intake size {tb} on 2007
« on: February 02, 2009, 02:40:03 PM »

:smoking: :rifle:  The throttle body {intake} on a 07  110" is 1.610 where it mounts to the heads and it is bored ,so it is round. Now, the intake 'entry' is 'around' 1.750 - 1.770  on the heads . That is .150 difference ,small to big. One more reason why these 07s run better with a bigger tb. I used to 'match' the intake to port and shoot for .010 - .020 dif , BUT ,  .150 is a bunch. Will not touch the stock tb as I want to see how much power I can get out of a STOCK 07  'with different valves. Remember ,you can't hold whats NOT in your hand. Start tying HOIST....

it'd be interesting to see what an hpi t/body would do for your build...the 32 cam is unusual because it has kinda short duration for a cam with that late of an intake close (but i bet it has good low speed manners unlike my bike)...gonna go out on a limb and say big t/body (port matched of course) would not be worth the trouble on your bike...what do you think?

You never know ,until you test it. I have been 'fooled' many times. Put on a {won't say the name} intake manifold that was suppose to give me 6+ hp. and lost 4 ! Put on exhaust that felt great on the street ,BUT, lost 12 hp. Remember , its ALL about tq. and where it starts and ends ! The 32 cams only have 18 degree's of overlap. I have another dyno I did ,where I started the run at 2000 rpm and it was pulling 100 tq until 3000 rpm. then went up.
