Fork Air Baffle
« on: February 02, 2009, 02:58:54 PM »

With all the heat on that the 110's produce.  Would installing the HD Chrome Fork Air Baffle help any?  I have talked with other bikers and the general reply is that they do help move the air in a downward draft towards the engine,  Was curious what other had to say about this.  Nice piece of chrome, but does it really help ?

Sounds like the air baffle is for the passenger not the engine.  Use it in the winter to direct the warm air to the passenger, loose it in the summer to redirect the warm air elsewhere,  This makes no sense to me !

I always had it installed, and on the SERK I felt it added to stability at higher speeds by helping to manage the air flow at the front. On the SEUC I wasn't so sure, by had it anyway. I've not noticed a difference in rider/passenger comfort. Now, my '09 SEUC came without an air baffle, and it seems it can not be installed. Did anyone look into that?

Louis,

Not clear what you mean by it can not be installed.  I purchased it anyway and installed it yesterday.  It bolt on just fine without any problems.  Looks great to.  Just wondering what you mean by it can't be installed.

I had one on my 03, it helped keep the rain/wind from coming up over the front of the tank. I removed it and installed it on the 09 with no problem, i think the chrome ones are like $27 or something fairly cheap.

They actually 'reduce' air flow onto your motor. They stop using them in 02-03 I believe , to help cool the motors.

No problems with the chrome piece under the triple tree and the wires there? My dealer said it does not fit, because in the parts book it says apparently through '08, although on the web site it says '80 and later ...

I'll have it ordered right away.

Ditto seems to keep the stray air flow away from the rider in my experience.
