sound differences between fish tails and straight end caps
« on: February 02, 2009, 05:19:31 PM »

I need to replace at least one of the end caps on my recently acquired CVO mufflers, once I got them on and looked more closely I saw there were two different, but similar end caps. I was thinking of replacing both of them with Fish Tails but really don't want to risk changing the sound too much - I currently have the 1.75 Fullsac baffles with extra insulation described in the FullSac Insulated (Quiet) Baffle thread (http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=28920.0 ) and more or less straight cut end caps.

If you have some experience with different style end caps, how much difference does the type of  end cap make when it comes to sound?

thanks in advance

I'm running fishtails on my 02 FLHR 88cid.  To be honest, it sounds like my SEUC sounded with SE Pro Mufflers when it was a 103cid.  NICE!  My opinion is the fishtails will change the sound little, if any at all.
