I had a 2008 CVO and the grips worked great I now have a 2009 flhtcuse and the grips never got warm. my local HD dealer is replacing them. they said it would take two or three weeks before they come in. they said they cost 240.00 each plus labor Thank God for warranty

When you're no longer worried about the warranty, Heat Demon heated hand grips are about $100.00 - and will last.   :2vrolijk_21:

Will the heat demons fit the new throttle by wire? Heard they won't.

A couple of people here have reported difficulty.  The manufacturer says they will though.  Bob (Boatman) recently put a set on a TBW bike so there's definitely a way to get them installed.

I installed the Heat Demons last Fall and am very pleased with them.....they can get HOT!  Just the right touch for those cool evenings or to extend the riding season without having to wear the thicker gloves or get all 'wired' up.

I put the HD Aileron heated grips on my '07 Ultra.  They worked perfect every time, and I never needed to go past 3-4 on the heat level.  Usually 2-3 was enough.  I could wear pretty thin, not bulky gloves as well.  If your fingers and toes are warm, it goes a long ways towards being comfortable.

I have to say this is funny. The best advice which I did the other day is buy the Heated gloves and move on. They just don't work. I rode home last Saturday it was 27 and my butt and hands were warm. Maybe some day they will figure it out but not today.

Hope you are off the couch soon. :huepfenjump3:

I have had 3 sets since I bought my bike new.  The last time the right side failed before I even got home.  I have the extended warranty, so I'm going to ask them to try a different type of heated grips that cost the same amount.  Shouldn't be a problem for them to okay this, right? :nixweiss:

Ditto!  The grips on my '06 CUSE have worked great ever since new.  Never had a problem.

I know there have been several posts about the heated hand grips on the stock CVO Ultra.  I could not find what I was looking for but have read that they are unreliable at best.  How hot should mine be getting on the highest setting?  6 I believe is the highest.  The seat got so darn hot I had to turn it off, but did not notice much warmth at all with the grips.  Thoughts?  Thanks.

My heated grips get real warm.  I think if they got another 10-20 degrees warmer, they may be to hot to touch.  But you need them that way to heat through gloves.  With the bare hand, they are quite toasty at level 6.  My seat would get so hot that I had to turn it off.  Now, it doesn't work at all.  I have my bike at the shop right now and they said they think the elements inside the seat may have burnt up, as they couldn't find anything else wrong.  They ordered me a new seat, which is on backorder.  I was also told that they have added an "A" to the end of the part number, which means they have changed something on that seat, but I have no idea what it was that they changed.  Perhaps they've turned the max setting down so it doesn't fry your A$$ and doesn't burn up the elements.

As was suggested elsewhere, as far as the grips go, I use heated gloves, so the grips aren't that big of an issue for me at this time of the year.  I'm thinking they will come in more handy in the better weather when things cool down a bit on the ride home at the end of the day.  If you are going to ride up north in the winter months, invest in a heated jacket and heated gloves.  You will not be sorry!
