Part number for CVO end caps
« on: February 13, 2009, 07:30:07 PM »

I just got back from the dealer, the  fishtail end caps I ordered for my cvo mufflers did not fit, they were 4" end caps but the mounting was wrong. Does anyone have the part number for end caps on a set of cvo mufflers?

It looks like the muffler numbers are 66080-06A and 65923-06A

The parts guy said he was going to check into getting me some fishtails, he said he would contact someone at Harley. If I had the right number it would save time, I don't know what bike the mufflers came from.

I need to replace one end cap, I really would have preferred fish tails but if they don't sell them, I will just replace the end cap with a new stock end cap.

thanks in advance

How's this:

66078-06  RING, Retention (2)
66079-06  END CAP (2)

This information is for the end caps for mufflers on an 06 SEUC.  HTH.   :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks, having part numbers will be helpful, seems most part guys get confused if you can't give them a model and year for a particular part - but part numbers work every time.

What does MoCo get for a set of these end caps?

66079-06 = $99.95  ( 79.97 at http://www.zanottimotor.com/ )
66079-06 = $9.90    ( 7.92 at http://www.zanottimotor.com/  )

The following also had the  same prices, but unfortunately none had it is stock so I decided to try
Zanotti , but it cost me 6% more because I had to pay PA sales tax.

Is that price per end cap or for the pair?  I have two of those just sitting in my garage.  Might have to see about selling them.

Joe,

Where are you in PA?  What bike do you have?  It would be nice if you would update your profile with that info.  Perfect reason here...I never recommend Zanotti to someone in PA because you are stuck paying tax.  Better to buy from out of state and avoid the tax.  Technically, I think that since Harley has stores in PA, the other dealers out of state should be charging tax, but I don't think they do.
