anyone putting added lights on FXSTSSE3?
« on: February 19, 2009, 11:00:39 PM »

I'm curious if CVO Springer owners are putting additional lights on the front of the bike anywhere so oncoming traffic can see you better. For safety, I worry more about that than a weak front brake. If I found some nice ones that don't take away from the looks, I'd consider putting some on mine.

something like these ??

I have a windscreen and I love it at times. I don't think I could bring myself to install the 4 1/2 inch spots on each side of the headlight. I'm thinking lower down on the bike and smaller lights, like motolights, or something similar (2 inch beacon buckets), mounted on top of the front strut assembly using longer acorn studs to hold the new bracket. Adjure Inc. looks like they might make something I can use and have it look nice, and increase the safety factor greatly, both for oncoming traffic and night riding. Still researching.

interesting possibility on the forward controls. I'd think they'd get dirty fast if the weather was anything less than ideal. The wheels don't block out much of the light that low? How about posting a few pics of them on your bike?

When I ride at night here in Arizona, these lights put a beam to each side of the road. Now I can spot the
night critters before they try to cross the road.

The black box holds a battery powered Radar Detector. I had to order a special "Chrome Handlebar Mount"
made by Techmount. ( 1 1/4 inch )  http://www.radarbusters.com/ I got all the parts at this website.
Escort Solo S2 Cordless and the Radar Detector box, then I drilled a small hole in front of the on/off button and use a paper clip to turn it on, this keeps it waterproof.

I thought about it for a few seconds and decided..no.....I don't like the look.
if I add something to the bike, it MUST look good (to me) on there or I don't care how it functions. ;D

that's why it took me so long finding a set of handlebars that I liked, and why I had a sundowner seat on my bike for about 5 seconds and sold it.....lol
