Sweet looking ride Henry.  I'm not a big fan of purple, but that RK looks sweet!!   :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks, Charlie.  I wasn't either......until I saw this thing.  Plenty of other selling points tho'.  Low mileage.  2002-last year for Timken bearing.  Carbureted.  Stage 1.  Docking hardware.  Wasn't too keen on the wind deflectors, but they've grown on me.

She's a sweet RK and that is some very low mileage on that ride.  I know you're not even close to being done with her...I can't wait to see what she looks like when you're done. :)

Henry I made the mistake of getting rid of my 2002 RK.  But when someones offers you 200.00 more than what you paid for it all I could see was 2 years of FREE riding and it was a FUN BIKE....

I know you will enjoy it because it brings back good old memories for me...

Well, money has a way of speaking to us at times.  It happened to me with my 02 Ultra, but the deal wore off, and the bond never broke.  I don't have too many material things, but the material thing I do have, I'm attached to.  I suppose there are worse things.

Really do enjoy that Road King tho'.

Thanks, Chip!  See, I'm trainable.  I knew that under those ugly eagle stickers therein was a fine looking machine.  Much appreciate the encouragement.  You had just as much to do with the sharpness of the Road King......if not, more, than did I.
Just need to block off a weekend and get after it with the three Glares.......and I fear in some places, Glare Knock-Out will be required.  I had to use that stuff to get some of the eagle sticker residue off the bags.  I think Glare Knock-Out and an orbital buffer will make the sticker ghosting on the bags go away.  The front of the bags and the side covers have "some" oxidation, and the bag lids need alot of TLC.  Other than that, a good once over with Micro followed with Spider and a by-the-book application of Pro Polish should bring the paint up to snuff.  Wheels need some work.  They're stained pretty bad in some places, but do not exhibit any signs of galvanic corrosion.  Need to upgrade center console hardware to the H-D "Bullseye" type.  Really could use a new Clearview windscreen, but that isn't a necessity just yet.  Not too bad.  Can't wait for you to see it.  Might ride it to CHL instead of the Green Bike.   :2vrolijk_21:

Looks like you are well on your way to polishing the paint right off of this machine. :)  BTW, how did the fender repair turn out?

Thanks dj.  Fender repair turned out great.  Bike has changed a bit since February.  V logo Fender Skirt.  V logo passenger footboard covers.  Waiting on duals from Jet Hot, then will upgrade cams to Bob Woods TW-6G, SE Billet plate, pump, S&S gears.......and leave it at that......until a primary leak develops at which time a Baker OD6 will go in with 3.37 gearing.  Added a Lindby Twinbar, secured with 12 pt SS hardware........and tonight I removed the red reflectors from the saddlebag latches and replaced them with chrome inserts.  I'm absolutely smitten with this machine.
