Discounting CVO's at Dealer???
« on: February 21, 2009, 06:39:23 PM »

Has anyone heard if any dealers are discounting or giving extras away with the new CVO's when you purchase one?   Local dealer has a SE Road Glide and I wondered if you can get any discounts on them or are they selling well enough that they don't need to?

I bought a Ultra that had been on the floor since Nov. for 2K under MSRP. Everyone on this forum said if you can get one at or below MSRP, buy it. Many dealers are still pricing over MSRP and getting it.

I got mine for about $2800 below MSRP throught hte miltary sales program... still has to pay prep/delivery... down side is, they ship it to a dealer who (as far as I know) gets nothing for the sale, so has no reason to hook you up with any discounts or freebies...

The local dealer has one at about $31800 but I don't know if they are discounting it at all or you get anything free.  Knowing them, I doubt it.

Has one what at $31800?   :nixweiss:  If that's an SEUC, then that's about $2K under MSRP.  If it's a SERG, that's around MSRP, if it's a Springer or Fat Bob, that's a rip-off!

If it's an SEUC, that's about $3800 under MSRP.  MSRP is $35,599.  If it's an SEUC, what dealer.  I can get rid of it for them at that price probably by Monday.

It's the Road Glide.  that's what I was asking about in the first post.  This dealer usually sells at MSRP.  I was just wondering if anyone was getting them under MSRP

sorry...didn't notice that you were the one that started the thread...your post just seemed to go right in line with others and it seemed like an unidentified bike.   :hanged:

MSRP for SEUC, with no freight/prep/setup, but they gave me a pretty good trade-in.  Pick it up next week!

<doh> I missed the RG reference in the original post also.

Seems to me most of the posts referencing dealers who have them on the floor all state they are listed pretty close to retail.

It seems that there are quite a few dealers trying to get more than MSRP too.  The first dealer that I tried to work a deal with wanted about $2000 over MSRP plus freight and prep charges.  I told them they can't be serious and walked.  They called me a few weeks later and I told them I already picked one up for much less.  It just happened that the Sales Manager where I bought mine came from that other dealer, which put some additional salt in their wounds.  My friend and I were trying to buy both the SEUC's they had at the time, and when they called me, they asked if my friend was still interested.  I told them he was working on another deal elsewhere now, and if they were going to treat him right, maybe they could still get his business.  Like they say, you can't fix stupid.  They still tried to get the high prices out of him, even after knowing that he was aware of what others were selling them for.

I guess some people just like having inventory sitting on the floor gathering dust... lol   :nixweiss:

I figure I got a great deal... but not as good a deal as I would have gotten in a "normal" economy, when folks are lining up to drop crazy amounts of cash, making a $2800 under MSRP deal really sweet... but I ain't complaining!
