Crystal Copper Paint ( need factory paint code)
« on: February 22, 2009, 02:42:48 PM »

So may latest question: I went to Paintscratch.com to order crystal copper, found this website from you guys. I want to paint a Hogpod speaker enclosure to match the inner fairing, problem is they want a factory paint code for crystal copper. I called my dealer (had me on hold twenty minutes while he checked) told me the cannot get the paint code only the part number for touch-up.
Does anyone have the factory code? Thanks

Call H-D customer service.  They'll probably tell you, though, it's top secret. ::)

CVO paint codes are top secret. Harley uses PPG for their paint, so I found a body shop that uses PPG. The PPG rep visited the shop and used a camera like device to match my paint. Good luck!

Similar experience at PPG jobber.  He was able to get a PPG paint code and mix using HD paint names for '09 models from his computer, but could get nothing from his computer for CVO colors regardless of model year.  He said he could take a picture using the "color" camera and match the paint.

I just had my Road king Custom painted last December. During this time I was talking with the guy who painted my bike about the CVO paint jobs. According to him. Harley will not release the color codes. They are special and don't want copied. However you can get the code if you contact PPG Paint. You might have to go down and let them match it to your bike. This is about the only way to get the paint code. Good Luck.
