I had those on my '07 Road Glide and the sound was just awesome. I could even hear them at cruising speeds over my V&H Pro Pipe 2-1 system. That's saying something, LOL!

I'm actually looking at the upgrade from those speakers for my SERG (see http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail.asp?ProductID=HRUS-09GTM-C&PF=6). The ones you are looking at have a dome tweeter. The next one up has a dome tweeter and a dome mid-range... for $20 more.

Just my $0.02...

I ordered the hog wired system. Did i make a bad and costly mistake. Or is it that great of a system ? It is a lot more money than just the two speakers here.

That's a whole different animal with an amp and speakers... I hear it's fantastic, but, personally, I just don't want or need that much sound.

I plan on an amp but not as pricey as the Hog Wired. I put together a system for my street glide for less than half the cost. There are plenty of name brand premium automotive amps and equalizers within the size limits. These speakers are good for 140 amps.  Just too much of a mark up in the HW system, should be about $400. Thanks Rick for the tip on the up grade! :2vrolijk_21:

I rode today an WOW! More than enough power, clear and with more base! I don't think I'll have to add an amp after all. Great product!.....Remember 2 ohm systems put out double that of a 4 or 8 ohm system.. :2vrolijk_21:

From what I was reading on the Hawg Wired website, the standard Harman Kardon radios are 2 ohm, but the CVO Harman Kardon system if 8 ohm standard and 4 ohm high output.  If you use a 2 ohm, you could damage your equipment.  So from what I read, these would be a great upgrade for the regular Road Glide, but the CVO has a different, upgraded, high output system that is not compatible with those speakers.  As always, I could be wrong, but I would check it further before causing a fatal error.  They would probably sound great for the short haul, but if they truly are not compatible, how long until you cause damage?  I'd rather play devil's advocate on this and cause some additional research, than have you do something that could be a disaster later.  I also noticed on Hawg Wired's site that they show the specs for different stereos and they show the Harman Kardon as a 4 channel/2 ohm, but if you look carefully there, it says "excludes CVO models".  So, I found it in 2 different places on their site, and they seem to have a pretty good grasp of stereo equipment on that site.  Here's the first thing I saw:  Harley Factory Radios:
For 2005 and older, Harley radios utilize 8 ohm speaker outputs. The new Harman Kardon radios for 2006 and beyond are using 2 ohm speaker outputs. There are also the CVO radios that are both 8 ohm (standard outputs) and 4 ohm (high outputs). Don't mix and match them. Some have been successful at using 4 ohm aftermarket speakers on the old style 8 ohm radios, but it's not recommended and could damage the radio's internal circuitry.

....the standard Harman Kardon radios are 2 ohm, but the CVO Harman Kardon system if 8 ohm standard and 4 ohm high output....

On the 09 SERG, you've got the standard radio at 2ohms, I'm pretty sure. No advanced autio system there. On the CUSE2-4, I think the audio system includes an amp. Maybe the amp is 4- or 8-ohm? I guess that could be the case, but I'm not sure why it would be set up that way. Also, I seem to remember that only one set of speakers (front? rear?) are powered by the amp. I might be confusing the HK Adv Audio system with one of the aftermarket systems here. In any case, if I'm not mistaken, the HK radio head unit is the same on all models.

These speakers should work fine on the SERG or any other bike with a 2-ohm system.

FWIW, mine came in last week. I think I'm going to head home and pull the front fairing since I've got HID lights, Kurakyn Driving Lights for Road Glide and J&M Audio Speakers to install. Could be a fun evening!

Oh, and I'm almost done with the break-in. Should have been weeks ago, but bad weather and being ill kept me off the bike for almost three weeks. Anyway, this means I'll be working on the exhaust -- non-CVO headers and Fullsac baflles -- and putting on my TTS Mastertune shortly.

Well, get those speakers in so I can hear them.  I finally realized yesterday that with my loud pipes, I can hear the stereo when it's cranked up, but it's not nearly as clear as I would like.  As I was typing this, I just had a thought (surprise, surprise...it happens) that yesterday was the first time I've had a passenger on this bike.  Perhaps her legs get in the way of the rear speakers and that's the part of the music that I was no longer hearing.  I guess I'll have to go ride and pay attention to this all over again, and see if it sounds fine with just me on there.
