Had both cylinders leak at 10,000 and they replaced them both.  Then, on my way to the 105th in Milwaukee, the flywheel came loose and oil started shooting out of the sending unit and it blew up in Indiana at 15,000.  Moco agreed to put in a new engine and ship it back to my hometown for free. Since I had the Ultra package on the roadside assistance, they paid for a car rental to get me the rest of the way to Milwaukee, paid for a Harley rental there, covered my hotel stay and meals totaling almost $1,000.  Can't really be too upset after getting a new, late 08 engine to replace the crappy 07 110" and having it delivered to my door with excellent customer service from the company.  I wonder if this happening on my way to the 105th had anything to do with the fawning treatment I received? :-\

8000 miles on my 08 SEUC developed oil leak on rear cylinder. Complied with SB to have new/improved gasket installed and drove it to 14000 miles and had no leaks. Took bike back in and had new heads installed and now have 25,500 miles and have never seen a leak. If this is a bandaid its a pretty good one!! 8)

If you get that letter, let the rest of us know.  We would like one too.  Thanks, Dean.

My 2007 SERK leaked oil from the rear head gasket at about 3000 miles. I sold it at 12,000 without any additional (oil leak) problems.

How many of you 07 & 08 110" owners have NOT had the factory upgrade AND have no problems AND how many miles do you now have on your scoot?

'08 SERK, 4,000 miles, no recall work, no problems.

I had 15K miles with no problems when I got the "enhancement" letter in August, 2008.  I was going to wait until winter to have the fix done but 1K miles later the rear cylinder started leaking oil.  3K miles so far w/o any issues.

08 SERK with 2500 miles.  No leaks so far and no letter in the mail, but took the scoot in to have the work done anyway.  Seemed like the ACRs were starting to go since it wasn't starting on the first button push anymore.  It would crank over like it was going to start, starter would disengage, the motor would puff, then die.  It always started on the second try, but I still wasn't happy with it.

Going to put on a set of Bub 7 w/crossover and a TTS Mastertune after I get it back from the dealer in an attempt to cool down the engine and hopefully to prevent any future problems.

News on the "enhancement".  I went in letter in hand to discuss getting the upgrade done on my 11,000+ mile 08 Ultra SE.  The service guys looked up my VIN and said no upgrade was needed.  But, says I, why did I get the letter?  Equally confused, service contacted HD and they came back with this:  The 08 changeover occurred at CVO to the new gaskets, ACRs, etc. on May 13.  My build date was May 27 so my bike has all the "latest" fixes.  Good, says I, but I have had some missed starts that seem attributable to the ACRs.  So, I might have them check the ACRs but I should be good on the rest.  Time will tell.  No leaks or other symptoms...yet.

Fingers crossed,
T-man

The 07s start to go bad around 10k.  I had leaks at 10k and they replaced both cylinders.  At 15k the engine blew and they had to replace it with a new one.  Good luck, and hope the changes you have planned work.
