thanks for the kind words!
Greg from California, yep, its called a Tour Glide, and they had two versions. one was basic without rear speakers, passenger controls and lowers. the top version had the "ultra" package as they do now. all the Tour Glides had cruise as standard, as does the Road Glide of today.... HD manufactured the Tour Glides and Ultra's with a SE cam, about the same grind as a stock, but with .495 lift. according to the archives, they were trying to get a little more power and speed for HD folk's to keep up with the gold wings. between the cam and gearing, they almost got it, but were still a little behind. In 92, the combo wouldn't pass emissions, so they went to a stock cam used in all the other big twins at that time. and relied on the name.....
i got real lucky and found a set of SE baffled performance mufflers, made by Kerker, for HD, with removable baffles. i put the fish tails on it and have a hard time justifying any more changes??? it has 74k on it now, and still has the same compression as listed in the manual. i run two ounces of Marvel Mystry Oil in every tank, due to the heat here in florida. and she purrrrrrrrs.
anyway, i'm sorry to be going on a bout my ride......i do want a newer SE Road Glide one day......maybe i can find a nice 02 or earlier......but o' blue stays here...
ya'll have some righteous rides in your SIG pics, and they are the most beautiful bikes Harley ever made!!!
