FWIW - many bells come w/ a little string to attach them. They don't last. I use a couple of rather stout zip ties and they work very well.

Also, don't know who suggested it to me long ago but I use the bell to remind me of those riders who have passed on. When I clean the bike and also the bell it reminds me of them. Hence the expression "polish the bell."

1st thing I did was get a set of leather shoelaces for work boots, used one of them doubled up & braided to attach my bell to kickstand side forward control.

Yes, hearing  the bell tingle when I move the bike with the twin not running reminds me it is there, and why. Thanks for bringing up the other things it can remind us all of. Ride on, & ride safe! :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

i had an indy change tires on my sporty once and when i went to pick it up he was pulling his hair out trying to figure out what the heck that ringing was.
i reached down and gave the bell a little flick with my finger and he about threw me out of the shop.
