Guy morning:
I've been riding for 40 years and bought my first Harley (2006 FXD) three years ago.  I bought a FLHRC last May and really enjoyed the ride.  I have a place in the FL panhandle that's about 400 miles from my home and I enjoying riding my bike to the beach then taking trips around FL.  Between the Dyna and RK I've been riding around 15,000 miles a year and decided it was time to buy a bike with a fairing.  I read every post I could find on touring bikes and finally settled on a Road Glide.

I ordered a vivid black RG and was expecting delivery the first of May. My dealer had an orange and black CVO that I've been drooling over that I had been there since around October. I was there Wednesday buying a part for my Dyna and asked the sales manager about the CVO not selling. He said that RG are not popular in our market and the downturn in the economy has really hit them hard. Their sticker on the bike was $33,000 plus all the other charges you always get hit with. I told him I knew it must be tough holding onto something that expensive and said that I might buy it if the price was right. He told me he could get with the owner and give me a call. When he called and said that they'd sell it to me for $28,995 out the door.  I'd been looking at the price it was going to cost me to add some bling to the standard RG plus the Stage 1, Stage 2 and upgrade the exhaust and I was at about $25,000, so need less to say I jumped in my truck and and took him a check.

I picked up my SERG Saturday and only got to ride it home because of rain. Yesterday was a nice day with a high of around 50 and no clouds. I rode 195 miles and have to say that I had no idea the bike was going to be that incredible. Like I said, I read all the reviews before I bought it and rode a standard RG but what can I say, this baby is far more than I expected.

I was amazed at the power; it has a strong, smooth power curve that starts at the bottom and just keeps on going - it will be interesting to see just how hard and high it will pull after it's broken in.  In reading the owners manual I see the bike's got 115 foot pounds of torque but there's no mention of horsepower. Have any of you had a chance to check yours out on a dyno?

I woke up this morning wishing I didn't have to work so that I could spend another day on my bike.  I leave town tomorrow for 5 days and will spend far too much time thinking about my new bike - maybe I'll sneak away after lunch and get in some miles before dark.

I'm hooked - if only I'd bought the SERK last year; then again, I probably wouldn't have the SERG today and it's the bike for me.

Hi James welcome from Warwickshire England: Great bike, not sure what the conversion rate to Great British Pounds is but sounds like a great deal cos the dealers over here are not dropping their prices at all, just picked up mine at £23k and only got a free tank of petrol and some road tax!!
