Nice having the torque from 2800-4000 RPM but damn, that stock cam just falls over at 4000...

7-8% pickup for just pipes, air filter and a tune ain't bad...

Yup Ernie "EPA" cam is a dud.  Marty seems happy with his, I am waffling as usual...

I rode about 70 miles this morning and I am no longer disappointed.  Luckily, I noticed right away that I was down to the odometer showing that I only had 3 miles left on this tank of gas.  I wouldn't think it would be the case, as I assume there is still more fuel left in the tank than that, but is it possible that I had a lack of fuel yesterday.  I took it real easy on the way to the gas station, which just happens to be just about 3 miles away, and once I fueled up, I could not duplicate any of the problems that I had last night.  In fact, I was grinning from ear to ear.  I took the bike to a small stretch of divided 4 lane highway, and rode from one end to the other, and made sure there were no police hiding out.  I waited until there was no traffic and started at a dead stop on the other side of the highway and really got on it.  I felt the front tire lifting off the ground in 2nd, which didn't surprise me, but when I hit 3rd and I felt it just about come off the ground, I was pretty impressed.  I must have been hitting it pretty hard for that to happen.  Anyway, I did stop in at the dealer and picked up the dyno sheet, and parts of my old exhaust that I noticed that they forgot to give me back.  I told him how disappointed I was yesterday, and that today, it seems to run much better than the numbers indicate.  The only problem I have now is that these Fat Cats have ruined any chance of me sneaking in and out of the neighborhood quietly.  They are pretty loud.  I can hear the stereo well, but I do have to crank it up, which I do anyway.  Overall, I think I would have probably been a bit happier coring the head pipe and leaving the Fullsac's on.  They have a much more acceptable tone to them, but at the same time, I'm definitely feeling a seat of the pants difference with the changes made.  It feels like a real torque monster now.   Back to the gas thing...I only got 104 miles out of that tank, which worries me.  I assume that when the dyno is run, they are using up a lot of gas, but mileage isn't showing up with only the rear spinning.  I hope I am getting better mileage than that.  I did notice that the bike seems to have cooled down significantly.  I didn't notice any heat and when I put my hand by the pipes, I could get very close to them.  They just don't seem to throw much heat off.

I did notice that, but I am going to have to wait until next winter to do some upgrades to the engine and solve that issue.  I think it will be an enjoyable ride as it sits for now.

I do like my yb14d cam, but my tbw still has a little lag, so I may go back to reno on 3/21 to have brad take a look ...

Well, if stock is really about 79 hp, then the pipes and air cleaner gave me just about right on a 15% increase over stock, just like D&D says it will with the Zipper MaxFlo air cleaner.  It seems to be dead on with what I should have expected based on their claim.

Glad you are happy with your results!  I wouldn't get to concerned about the amount of miles out of that tank.  No doubt they burned thru quite a bit on the dyno - and your a/f ratio looks decent - I'll bet you next tankful looks much better!   :2vrolijk_21:

You better be trailering it or are you going to put chains on the tires?  :huepfenjump3:

Keep in mind that when dyno'ing, there's a lot of idle time which burns fuel, then every time they hit the gas it's full throttle.  I wouldn't worry about the mileage, just follow up on this tank to see where it really is.

I'm posting my dyno from my 110 kit on a 07 Street Glide. Stage 1 A/C, Rinehart TD and SERT. 93 hp / 113 tq. Taking in the fact they are different dynos, I'd say your dead on. That was a good motor with that kit! Ride her and enjoy!

Well, I put another 200 miles on today, and I am absolutely thrilled with the way the bike is running.  To top that, I switched bikes for a few miles with a friend.  He has an 08 SEUC, and now I know what a bad tune feels like.  He told me he thought his bike was bogging down, so I rode it.  When you are doing 65 to 70 in 6th gear and crack the throttle, it just sits there and very slowly progresses up in speed.  Even if you drop it down to 5th gear, still the same thing happens.  If I crack my throttle at that speed, you hear the exhaust get to cracked throttle loudness and it quickly goes to 80 and 90 and so on.  We've got the same Fat Cat pipes, so I would have expected to hear the same thing and have the same responsiveness, but when you crack the throttle on his, it almost sounds like you just dropped the engine in a lake and very slowly builds up to speed.  He just picked this bike up used and I told him he needs to take it back to the dealer and have it tuned properly.  Beyond that, I could definitely feel the difference in handling between the 2 bikes, especially when hitting curves at 70 mph.

He has quickly found a common problem...his heated grips aren't heating.  He also asked me if I could set his clock and found that it was set up on the Newfoundland time zone.  Anybody that's had that problem knows that you can't just change it.  You have to download new software for the radio to get it back to a mode that will allow you to select the proper time zone.  As his luck would have it, I just happened to have the CD I had burned with me and downloaded the new software and set his clock on the side of the road on the PA turnpike, while we were stopped for a few minute break.

Question for anyone with an 08 or earlier SEUC...does your radio have a setting for daylight savings time?  My 09 has it but it did not come up on his.  So I just set it an hour ahead, since tonight is the time change.
