To chrome or not to chrome
« on: March 05, 2009, 09:25:35 PM »

I have a 2005 FLSTFSE and hate the $#@$ polished wheels (as I am sure most do).  I mean really cleaning the damn things are horrible and I am just lazy. :soapbox:     And I digress....
Looking through the deep reaches of post I have seen all types and am torn....  Should I chrome the solid wheels that came from the bike or invest in some aftermarkets?  If you have pics please share.... :pepper:

Go ahead and buy some new ones.  There are so many styles out there that you can choose to make your bike unique.  You wouldn't be happy just chroming the ones you have.

New chrome wheels will always make your bike look better and make
you want to keep them clean and shinning.

Buy new wheels.

Invest in aftermarkets and keep the originals. That way you can take the bike back to stock if necessary for sale.

I am leaning more towards the aftermarket wheels....  As my wife would say more chit for the money pit.  Any ideas what manufactures to go with?

Maybe I'm weird but I like my stock wheels.

Mothers and a Power ball and we're good to go.

I love my wheels, and love the look of polished aluminum. (hey I'm an old hot rodder)
But if your not into cleaning them chrome is the way to go.

I love the look of the wheels when they are clean just as much as anyone....I just don't want to spend that much time polishing them.
