Quick detach for the Tourpac!!
« on: March 07, 2009, 05:41:54 PM »

Here's pics of the bike without the Tourpac on.  I don't have a seat yet, but I have a buddy with a Street Glide who changed seats and wants to sell the original so I may take a look at that.

I had my dealer do the work.  Today when I took the Tourpack off and tried the radio I found out I don't have any sound.  Tourpac on and everything plugged back I have sound.  So...they have some more work to do.

Even though I have another day back to the dealer I'm still excited about having two looks to my bike.  I also want to relocate the licence plate to below the taillight.

Hi Fed68,

Have you removed the amplifier harness? as the radio won't work if its still on and the amp is unpluged.

Cheers,

Kev

Need to remove overlay harness that runs from faring back to amp. Once removed reconect plugs under faring from the amp to radio and you will have tunes  :bananarock:

Try the Kuryakyn curved license plate holder.  It eliminates the awkward crossover they include in the detach system.  It bolts on where the reflector is just below the tail light.  IT really cleans up the look.  I can send you a pic if you like.

FED68,
that looks REALLY good.  The only other suggestion I would make (aside from the license plate holder I mentioned above) is get a lower dark tint windshield.  I bought a recurve unit that I believe is 9.5 with dark tint.  It really improves the look.
Great work......congrats.

I did the same but swaped out the turn signal bar for the Street Glide version then used the Kuryakyn curved plate hold, looks better.  Also, you can then move the CVO emblem down.
