George Anderson TP Relocation Kit
« on: March 07, 2009, 11:06:48 PM »

After reading about it on the forum, I ordered George's relocation kit.  It arrived the day after I mailed his check to him - a very nice and trusting man!

Anyway, it took a total of about 20 minutes to install with the help of my wife (she held up the TP while I fastened the relocator).  Very simple, very functional, very cost effective.  My wife is not a large, or a tall woman, but the passenger area was SO cramped with the backrest in place.  I moved the TP back the full 2.5 inches, and it makes a world of difference.  The only downside is that her legs now hang at a greater angle, pushing her legs into the saddlebag crash bar.  Moving the passenger floorboards up to the upper mounting hole took care of that problem.

Happy wife = happy man

Now, only if I can get the rider backrest to not be grossly uncomfortable.  Gonna see if I can figure out how to remove the seat & futz around with the backrest mount.

Same here.  My wife has extra room and there is also more room for the speakers.  I also installed grab rails since I have the extra room.

Can't believe your wife stood still long enough for you to put those grab rails on her :)

Yep George is a great guy and does exactly what he says and it is wonderful dealing with him.  His product worked fantastic on my 07 and now on the 09.

If you are inclined to give your BSR more room, I would definitely echo any of the writings you have seen in saying its a good product and works well.

The hard part was keeping her still while I put the hand grips on the grab rails! :P

I bought an almost perfect used Harley grab rail from an earlier model on ebay.  It goes on under the backrest bracket very easliy.  If you have the tourpack moved back, there is no issue with speaker clearance.  It shouldn't take more than ten minutes to install it.
