Old Timers Wrestling
« on: March 09, 2009, 02:26:08 PM »

I wrestled in an Old Timers tourny this past Friday, March 6. Old timers is basically anyone out of high school. I ended up being the smallest in my bracket at 218lbs. The next nearest guy was 10 lbs heavier the other 3 were between 15 and 20 lbs heavier. I was also the oldest wrestler in the whole tourny. Will be 46 in April. The next nearest was 29 two were 21 one was 24. The last guy I wrestled was like 6'4" and when we locked up I said out loud holy chit you're strong. He won our bracket. By that time I was really tired having had wrestled 3 times already. I had so much fun and walked around with a big idiot grin for 2 days. Oh and I was given a really nice plaque because I was the oldest. Very fun. Sore as hell but worth every ache. 3 of my buddies wrestled also one is 43 one is 44 and the other was in my bracket at 29. Fun stuff. Im looking forward to another tourny maybe in Blanchardville on March 21...Maybe...I want to cut some weight though.

There may be a few embarrasing pics floating around. One of my friends has them on his camera. As soon as I get them I will post a few...not pretty. And no, I did not wear a singlet. This tounament was held at Pacelli High school in Stevens Point WI.  Back in the day I wrestled in H.S. then at the University of WI Oshkosh. That was back in 1983. 164 was my weight back then....I am a bit bigger now...

That would be great about the pic post... :2vrolijk_21: Hope one of the embarrasing one's ...are not on your back!! LOL ;D Like I haven't' been there, smile. In HS I was working 133. I somehow managed to place 1st in CCS 1 and then, did not make weight in CCS 2. The placers in CCS 2 went to State. :( I was fighting at that time to make weight... Every week (Monday) I was over, by usually 12 lbs. Needless to say, I guess this is why I like MMA, UFC, Muddy

LOL.... I use to wrestle in jr high & high school. Very physical sport and required alot of training & conditioning to be compedative. Never liked to loose in any sport. Always was a starter in wrestling, football, basketball, and baseball, loved them all,but wrestling was the most demanding. At 51 years old and 6'  210lbs I could "probaly" still pin a few, but would need to get the job done quick before the steam ran out.  ;D  :huepfenjump3:

Hey, I hear ya....most people don't relate to the conditioning behind the wrestling, boxing, & MMA.

Talon...too funny! Muddy
