Going to bring this topic back to the top...
Since I am now due for a plug change...just a regular maintenance thing I do...not because I have to...I did a search to see previous threads.
I kept an article because I knew that I would someday want to re-read it. Has anyone seen the June issue of Thunder Press article "Motorhead Memo" by Kip Woodring? Interesting numbers being posted about temperature, electrical resistance, melting points, etc. He does not push a brand and leaves one to thinking maybe there are alternatives worth merit. There is a small followup in the Aug. issue in the Letters dept where they talked about specific brands/plug numbers.
I'm going to give the Denso IXU24 a try. This is one heat range colder than oem. Was thinking of gapping at .035 also. I have not seen evidence of fouling with the current plugs and have always used the stock 6R12 in the past.
Going back to my racing days, we always ran the coldest plug and shortest gap to get the most power at high rpm.
Anyone have recent real experience using the Denso's?
