Power Commander Performance on the 09 CVO Ultra
« on: March 15, 2009, 04:09:56 PM »

I've been trying to get the BUB-7's on my 09 CVO Ultra but I am having some technical opinion differences with how to get it done.

Local shop want to put on Vance and Hines ECM (which I had on my 05 non-CVO Ultra).   Seems my CVOHARLEY investigation likes the Power Commander (PC) ECM.  Does anyone have the  Power Commander M15-003, an opened up breather and BUB-7's on their 09 CVO yet?  Has anyone installed the AutoTune for the Power Commander (AT-100) as an additional feature?

I've check the PC website and they don't specifically say the M15-003 is good for the 09 CVO Ultra.  Does anyone know?

I had this on the Intake/Exhaust blog but didn't get any responses.  I'm doing an across country trip and am concerned would like some idea how the PC is doing so I don't get stranded on the top of Mt. Rainer.

Thanks.

I've got the PCV on mine and the code on the box is 15-003.  It runs fine, has been set up on a rolling road by Dynojet UK, exhausts are currently standard.

I've only just got the bike so only got 260 miles on it so far.

Thanks Jon.

Do you know if they had to change the PCV factory settings during the dyno?

Ultrafun:  I quick hi-jack if you will.  I have the Bub 7's on order.  How well did they fit?  Do you leave off the chrome shield on the Left one?  Sound thoughts?
I posted here and the mod switiched it to the "technical" board and it died there.  Muffler questions aren't exactly "technical", so hope they will understand that and let yours run here.

www.CVOHARLEY.com > CVO Technical > Intake/Exhaust/ECM  Topic: BUB 7 Slipon's

Hey 212hjet,

I don't have them on yet.  I'm told a ECM needs to be installed at the same time and that's my dilemma right now.  However, the above link should answer your question.. There's even a sound bite someone posted which is what sold me on the Bub-7s.

Good Luck,

Yes, I think they did as initially it's set up with all zeroe's in its map (I think) and they gave me a graph showing the before and after map.

Recevied the following information from Dynojet regarding the Power Commander:

"The 15-003 will work for the CVO 110. We only have one 110 map at the moment for the 110s. The map number is M15-003-019. The autotune add-on will tune the bike as your riding down the road. The nice thing about the auto tune is you can disconnect it after it tunes the bike. Once the bike gets tuned the first time, your should have to make any adjustments after that unless you make more modifications to the bike.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks."

now that is patent bull s*&^ the pc guys are so good at pulling the crap over folks eyes - its just a line of crap. with no auto tune it will have all the issues of a 77 shovel. [or the issues of my 99 road glide]

i personally feel they are saying anything to sell enough pc units to pay off there 7 figure fine to california for tampering

in the old days when riding over the mountains they would smoke and choke and puke from being so rich, they would run rich just before a thunderstorm and run the best in clear cold weather at night - with ox sensors all those issues are dealt with in real time.

if you want to defeat the emissions at least do it so it really runs properly and use a system that uses the ox sensors to keep up with the atmospheric conditions.

i got a 07 because it has a more advanced ecm - and i am extremely happy with it - but then i dont hot rod it either, i just ride it.

Thanks Timo482.

I'm not quite sure I understand what your saying,  Is the PC a bad choice, the Auto Tune or both?  What is an 07?

Thanks.

Thank You CAPTHUB!

I've began to wonder if anyone has purchased the PCV and the Autotune feature with Bub-7's.  Did you use the PC map M15-003-019 or did your have it dyno'd?

Thanks Timo482.

I'm not quite sure I understand what your saying,  Is the PC a bad choice, the Auto Tune or both?  What is an 07?

any tuner that does not use o2 sensors of some type - is neolithc - pc without auto tune is old, very old. [of course my grandkids think im old...]

a 07 is the first year that hd put in o2 sensors - from 07 and up the game changed and any tuner that installs o2 eliminators is old.

a pc without auto tune is only good for the geographic area that its tuned for - its basically tuned for one particular day and one elevation - like the old bikes.

the california version of the pc does not even change any settings for the rpm's you actually ride - the one for non california bikes without auto tune is just old. also remember that 13 states use the california specs - not just california.

buying a pcv without autotune is like buying a car without tires.

I had it tuned on the dyno with this map as a base.
