We've been to NASCAR races all over the South.  We even go to the races on Friday nights at "The Legendary Huntsville Speedway."

Something I've never witnessed is drag racing.  And there is a drag strip in Huntsville as well.

This year, we're going............matter of fact.........I think we'll go watch "Test and Tune" next Friday night.

But something I've always wanted to watch...........AHDRA Racing.

I've seen this at Sturgis before...

And I've been at the NHRA drags at Brainerd, Minn. and Joliet, IL. before.  It's an incredible experience!

This is something you need to do.
A man has to experience a top fuel Harley dragbike at least once in his life.
It is a feeling that will never be duplicated.
Be there when they fire it up, the ground shakes and your body vibrates.
There is nothing like it.

See this schedule.

http://www.ahdra.com/schedule.html

Nancy and I will ride to the race at Commerce Ga. Bristol Tenn. and Rockingham NC.
Hope to see you and Renae at one of those races.
And the race at the Rock, come to Matthews and stay with us, we are only 90 miles from there.
And speaking for Nancy, you and Renae will be in good company!

And a quick story.

When Nancy and I were dating, I took her to a AHDRA race at Rockingham.
They were getting ready for first round of Top Fuel bikes.
We were backed up to the building about 25 feet from the Top Fuel bikes.
They inserted the starters and fired them up.
Nitromethane fumes filled the air thick enough to choke us.
With the ground shaking as they idled I looked at Nancy and shouted in her ear what did she think about that.
She said, "I love it, this is great!"
I knew then, she was a keeper!

So true, so true!
Must be another reason we run that Cam II in the bikes.
The smell is great!

Chip and Scott are both right on the money when it comes to experiencing top fuel Harley's running. The smell, the thunder is something that you'll never forget. Nothing but pure, raw power at it's best. :2vrolijk_21:

Well, Commerce is out.  We'll be at Talladega that weekend for the NSCS Aaron's 499.  Same Spring race tickets we've had for I don't know how many years..........Moss-Thornton Tower, Section A, Row 46, Seats 11 and 12......just before the Start/Finish line.  We get just a smidge of the racing fuel smell, and it is so sweet.  Love it.  For the fall race, we're a little further north and almost 20 rows higher, so we don't get as much of the smell.  Still.......VERY cool to feel the grandstands shake, the wind change direction, and the deafening sound and sweet smell as 43 cars come screamin' by at 200 mph.

Still..........I've heard drag racing beats it all.  I have got to do it.

Looks like Bristol or "The Rock."
