H-D instruction sheets
« on: March 16, 2009, 01:34:55 AM »

Some of us have installed various H D accessories on our bikes. These usually come with instruction sheets. I was curious if there would be a way that these actual instruction sheets could be copied and stored here in a file so we could look them over to see what might be involved installing some of the accessories on our own bikes before we actually have to make any purchases.

Someone here probably has the expertise to pull them from HD. What I can tell you is anytime I have a question on a Harley part, my dealer will print the instruction from their computers. It is the exact same instructions that come with the part.

I agree with that idea.  That could be an entire new section of the forum though and I think the posts would have to be listed by part number, and somehow constantly sorted by the part # for ease in finding the sheet you are looking for.  If you just had to go to the instruction sheet section and look down the list for your part number, it sure would be easy...much easier than waiting until you are at the dealer and having them print one for you.

scan em and turn them into a PDF...

I tuck them into the binder I have my manual mounted in (got that idea from here).  I took my new manual and had it drilled and cut at one of the office store (don't know, cause the wife did it for me).  Was like 15.00.

I got a huge black 3 ring binder for it, and keep it there with the parts manual and the supplement for the FLHESEI2.

For those that may be interested in the idea Sean mentioned above here is the thread - Service Manuals. It's a great way to keep/protect your manuals.

There is another website that got crossways with the MoCo over copyright issues for doing a similar service.  He was posting service bulletins and the MoCo lawyers sent him cease and desist letters.  I'd expect the same would happen if we tried that here.
