SERG3 First impression
« on: March 18, 2009, 07:00:00 PM »

WOW!! Finally got to put some good miles on the bike, when I picked her up it was about 40 degrees out, froze my face due to the fact the stock windshield is all for look's! Put the new CV on her and today took a half day off and got to put some time in the saddle. This is one sweet bike! Always draws a crowd, even at stop lights! Only problem I have had so far was keeping her somewhat close to the posted speed limit!11 :2vrolijk_21: I love this bike! All I need now is the TP which at last check it has been packed, whatever the He-- that means!  TP is for my BSR anyway, she has had to come out to the garage whenever she cant find me in the house! All in all, I feel this bike was for sure worth the wait! Today was the first actual sunny day we have had, man the silver jumps right out at ya! Did I mention that I love this bike?? It will be hard to leave her sitting in the garage, the bike not my better half, when I have to travel!  hope to see some of you on the road!

Congratulations on the new bike - they are incredible machines.

A word of caution - check the bolts on the saddlebag brackets. The one on my right bag came loose and I my bag flew off into the path of a semi.  I was on a bridge and couldn't stop to see if there was anything left to save.  The next day I took my bike to an Indy friend who checked everything out to make sure all was well; during his inspection he found that the bolt on the front bracket of the left bag was also missing and who knows how that bag stayed on.  He put in a new bolt using red locktite and a lock washer.  My dealer is replacing the bag but what a waste.

You are going to love the new bike.  If you feel that the power is restricted do a search here for all the postings about the catalytic converters in the head pipes - its a shame the MOCO decided to do something like that to one of their premier bikes.

Correction... it's a shame the EPA made the MOCO do something like that to one of their premier bikes...

Cee Baileys makes a windshield for the 09 SERG. See http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=33358.0 for a topic discussing this windshield. You can find Cee Baileys on the web at http://www.CeeBaileys.com/.

Hope that helps!

I finally got to just over 400 miles on Orange Black CVO Glide yesterday. Love the ride, looking into changing the exhaust and what ever else I need to change to get some sound out of it. A little too quiet with stock set up.

Congrats on the new ride.!
Understand your feelings bout the new SERG...  It just keeps getting better ! I would like to bring mine in, but the wife says the garage is "good enough". So, I cover her up at night (the bike, not the wife) with a sheet to keep the dust off. My daughter says I'm a nerd, and the sheet is an embarrassment when her friends come over. Guess I will look around for a differant pattern sheet. Crap what's wrong with "Sponge Bob" ?   :-\

navdav51, I see you got the fastest color, no wonder you are having a hard time keeping it at the speed limit.

These SERGs are truely fantastic machines.  So far the best Harley I have ever rode.
