09 Corbin seats on touring bikes?
« on: March 19, 2009, 09:34:44 AM »

Has anyone installed an 09 Corbin(ie, Gunfighter) with the new locking mechanism on an 09 touring bike yet?  I want to do it but I still need to be able to quickly put the stock seat on my 09 SEUC when I go two up.  The new locking system on the Corbins have pins front and rear and a key to unlock.  It does not appear to be a quick change out option for me.

Warren,

If nothing has changed since I got the one for my 05, you have to remove the stock rider backrest bracket and replace it with the locking pin bracket for the seat.  The rider backrest attaches to the seat and not to a bracket on the bike.

Bob,
based on what I read and saw on the Corbin web site it's a little different now. There is a lock pin on the front "tongue"(attached to the bike) that goes in the
seat and another in the rear.  Then you actually have a key locking system on the right side.
I am now using a stock street glide seat that looks ok until you put a back rest on it.
thanks
PS: got the performance stuff done.  It really improves torque and seems a good bit cooler.  Only a few miles on it so far.  Getting rid of the CC has to help.

The front pin is a change for sure from mine.  I only have the rear with the key on the right side.

I'm glad to hear you got the performance stuff done, you'll have to fill me in on the details.
