Top 5 most popular modifications for the 09 SERG
« on: March 19, 2009, 04:52:37 PM »

Just wondering what everyone else is doing to there SERG. If you were limited to just five modifications / aftermarket parts what would they be?

This is nearly a no brainer (for those of us without).  These seem like required items to me:

1.  Windshield !  (The stock deflector merely defects wind into your face.  Mine was changed upon return from dealer)
2.  Fullsac cores w/ cc removal.  (Enough power is never enough);
3.  SERT or other Race Tuner  (See # 2, above);
4.  Tour Pak  (For any real distance or for "her" extras);
5.  Xenon HID Headlamps (See and be seen!)

I couldn't get by with only 5 modifications...
Windshield - Clearview GT Small 11.5 in. Light Tint Recurve
Handlebars - Wild1 WO517 Chubby Road Glide Handlebars
Exhaust / SSERT - Fullsac & drill out Cat
Stereo Upgrade - ARC Audio KS 125.2 Mini Amp, Dual ARC Audio Foose FD5025 4 Amp Speakers
Chopped Tour-Pak / Passenger Backrest / Detachables Lock
Passenger Floorboards - a "must have" upgrade for my wife

1. Remove Syn 3 from every hole and replace with Amsoil, Redline or similar quality lubricants (may wish to use dino oil during break-in)
2. Exhaust - Remove cat and change or modify mufflers - Fullsac Cores, D&D 4" Boss, or something similar
3. Tuner - SSERT or TTS
4. Oil pressure gauge
5. Functional windshield of choice - stock one is great until you start riding.

2) Tour pak (pad) and detachable rack & 4 pt. mount
3) Larger pass. back rest
4) Change exhaust and dyno tune
5) Hiway pegs

And because they're free, updated jiffy stand bracket and a seat that fits.

I would say the windshield, exhausts (Klock Werks, with the stock tips), the rear plate, rear bag bars,  I however also went with the engine mods (noted) below.

My list. In no particular order.

1.Windshield CV Standard height

3.Fullsac Exhaust

5.Passenger Floorboards

Of course the list could continue. But, you asked for the top five.
