Hidden auxillary iPod wire--Road Glide
« on: March 19, 2009, 09:53:34 PM »

I will post a few pics of the wiring I did to hide the iPod wire in the fairing and bring it out in the glove box. It was a problem in my old RG, as I didn't like the wire running to the radio, either from the handle bar mount or the glove box.  I was always uncomfortable leaving it on the handle bar while going into the gas station or restaurant, for fear of it being stolen.  The wire, when run from the glove box was scuffing the paint job.
I removed the radio and sent it to Jim (HD-Dude) to have the trace cut and the adaptor soldered on. I drilled a hole in the back of the glove box and ran the cord through a rubber grommet. The iPod can now sit on a bandana and play all day. I put it on shuffle, turn the volume up and let her play.  Thanks Jim for allowing me to do this.

Most excellent mod but I'm a little slow. Why can't you just use a wye splitter on the antenna?

Good job, nice and clean! Those aux. connectors look pretty large, is there a reason for that or is it just my imagination?
