How do you Change a song?

That's the drawback. I enjoy all the songs I have on my iPod, so I just let 'um play. If I get one that doesn't suit me that day I can flip to the CD for a few minutes or just wait---it will soon be over.  Sometimes I play specific albums, but find they only last a short time and you're right, it's dangerous to try to change things while you're riding. I have two Christmas tunes in the 500 or so songs. It's like winning the lottery when one of those comes on. Ever pulled into a gas station in July with Jingle Bells playing?  Better turn it down real quick or put up with the funny looks and shaking heads!

do you wrap the ipod up in a rag/towel or something to keep it from bouncing hard?

Yeah, usually have it laying on a couple of extra do-rags that I keep in the glove box for padding.

Indenial,

Nice job, I really admire innovative ideas.....

HOWEVER, I removed my Road Glide's fairing once, to install the CB radio, intercom and rear speaker feature (I made it into an "Ultra"-Road Glide), and I swore I was never going to get the fairing back on again.  I finally did get it, but have been gun-shy about removing it again.  Are there any secrets that I don't know about?

Indenial,

I swore I was never going to get the fairing back on again.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I have to take it in to the dealer for GPS wiring and new handle bars and heat demons, so I'm letting them put it back on. There are tricks to it and I don't know them.

AN advantage to using the iPod Nano series is that it is solid state.
The iPod video (20, 30 120 GB etc) use hard drives, which, after several good bumps in t a row, lockup.

The trick to getting the fairing back on is removing the headlight, once the fairing is back on the hooks, the light snaps back in place, Ive have mine off a dozen times

I find that helps with the FLH as well, especially with HID lights

Would this modification void the radio warranty?  I've been thinking about a similar set-up for my CUSE.  Also, I found this Monster iEzclick on Ebay for $20 and it works remarkably well as a remote controller.  I attached the controller to my handlebar with a nylon strap. It looks pretty okay but it works great!!

Harley offers some soft liners for those glove boxes.  Might help protect the ipod a little.
