What oil do you like and why?

I went back a few pages here and did not see anything about what oil people like and or are using.  I have always been a Mobil 1 fan and I see that the CVO'S require the Syn 3 oil.  So I am asking ya guys what you like and why. Thanks in advance for all your input.

The only requirement for the Syn3 is to remove it!

mobil 1 v-twin, Amsoil, Redline, All top oils and work well. At the shop I use Amsoil or Mobil 1 V-twin in the engine, Redline Shockproof in the tranny, and belray in the primary

Mobil 1 V twin in the engine...

Red Line Shockproof in the transmission...

Red Line MTL in the primary...

I have only seen 15-50w in Mobil One, is that what people are using for Mobel One?

No get the V-TWIN.....Auto Zone has it as I am sure most auto supply store have it.

Well for me I run Amsoil 20w50 in the motor and primary, Redline Heavy Shockproff in the trans.

I've tried various oils including Mobil Vtwin, Amsoil, Valvoline Motorcycle Dino, Mobil 1 15-50, ect ect. All the oils I've tried seemed to be ok. I now have redline 20w60 in her and I have to tell you it made the valve train noise quieter. I just got back from a long day-trip and we ran about 400 miles at 80-95 mph and it used no oil and the engine seemed to be cooler also. (notice this when I checked the oil) I know 400 miles is not alot of miles top judge oil consumption, but we ran pretty hard. Needless to say I will be running Redline from here on out.

For me:
  • Amsoil 20w50 V-Twin in the motor
  • Belray Primary Oil in the primary
  • Amsoil 75w90 Gear Oil in the transmission
However, with all the talk about Redline Heavy Shock, I may try it for my next oil change.

If I change trans fluid and don't have any shockproof I will run Amsoil 75w140 it works great and that is what I run in my trucks. So there are 5 gallon drums around the shop all of the time.

Do the same, but also use Redline in the motor.

Regarding the Shockproof, just look at Porthole's 6 speed upgrade post and you will see that the Peptobisnol really sticks to the gears.
