Stage 1 purrrfection
« on: March 22, 2009, 02:40:40 PM »

I know a lot of folks are looking for the best sound for their bikes, and have tried many different exhaust systems trying to find one they are really happy with.  -Well, I found mine.  I was actually fairly satisfied with my stock mufflers, but was concerned about motor heat issues.  I ended up doing the Fullsac 1 3/4" muffler conversion along with the TTS Mastertune program.  I went to a Doherty PowerPacc A/C kit which came with an aluminum spacer so I could use my stock cover.  I used a map that Steve George emailed me.
Results?  I didn't think my bike could run any smoother than stock, but it seems to run even smoother.  And for me, the sound is exactly what I was looking for.  -Not too loud, not too quiet.  Muffler perfection.
The best part is that I was able to bypass the dealership and do all the work myself.  No dyno abuse.
Now I'm ready for the riding season.   :huepfenjump3:

The cat was part of the baffle.  When I knocked the baffle out from the inlet end, the cat is one piece with the baffle, so the whole works came out.
