Which HD Highway Pegs for FLHRSE4
« on: March 24, 2009, 10:00:50 AM »

Which HD highway pegs are on your FLHRSE4?
Long or short offset, 360, etc.

I'm 6' but the standard pegs would have me stretched out too far I think . . .

Hey Bnut

I'm using the adjustable highway peg kit, short angle. I'm 5'9" with stubby legs. I can reach them easily and am quite comfortable.

Thanks for the e-mail.  I guess as far as the Rineharts go, I can't believe they would interfer with either side in regards to the running board upgrade to the rear pegs.

In this picture I still have the original pegs in place, but the new mounts are not any larger or wider than originals.

This shows the adjustable running board inside mount.  It really isn't any larger than the original.  The outside adjustment arm is out far enough that it should not be an issue for either side.

As far as highway pegs, I bought new Ironside pegs @ $149.95 before I figured out that I'd have a free set from the rear as soon as I upgraded to the running boards.  I used the HD brackets that allowed a bit of adjustment on the engine guard, but have the pegs on the rear side of the engine guard.  I'm 6'-1" but have a 32" inseam and these are just right for me.  If I scooch up to the tank, I can just hang my heels over the pegs, but it's not that comfortable, only a change of pace for me.

The SERK is no different than any other RK and I'm sure over the last couple years many have used Rineharts and upgraded to the adjustable assemblies I used.  If you don't want the adjustable one, just get the "T" mounts and use them as stock RK's would.

Other than that, I can't help you out much.

Good luck.

I'm using the same mounts as Black Diamond, and the rear pegs from when I put passenger floor boards on.  I'm 5'9" with a 32" inseam and reach them fine.  And I like the relatively inconspicuous look compared to some mounts.

Did you put on the adjustable passenger floorboards or standard?

Adjustable HD, the kind that you can rotate through 360 degrees.  Pricey, but unless the fixed ones happen to be just right I think it was worth it.

FWIW, today I ordered a Lindby Twinbar for my FLHR.  Had one on my 02 ultra and loved it.  If it pans out well, I'll order one for the SEUC, which means the old stuff will will go on sale here and if no takers..........eBay.
