Synthetic gear box oil change- Shifts like butter
« on: March 24, 2009, 01:51:29 PM »

:carrot:  Just replaced the SE oil in the tranny with Amsoil 75x90 gear oil.  Night and day difference.  The bike shifts like a sport bike tranny now.  Clicks right in with no clunking.  I cant believe the difference!  I also changed the engine and primary case oil with Amsoil 20x50.  I live in an area that gets over 100 in the summer, so thats my main reason I swithched to synthetic.  I would recommend all of you to at least put synthetic gear oil in your trannies.  Mobil1, Redline, or something else would probably work as well as Amsoil.   I own other Japanese bikes and run different oils in them.  This is my first use of Amsoil.  I use Shell Rotella 5x40 in my water cooled Yamaha FJR, and Mobil 1 15x50 in my Suzuki Bandit.  So you can see I'm not a paid Amsoil rep.

I actually use 75w140 if I don't have any RedLine Heavy Shockproof
