Check this link out, http://www.cyclemanual.com/faq.htm this may/may not be what you looking for, but will give a break down of VIN #. Now if all CVO bikes are manufactured at one place (which I believe they are), and they are done in sequence, then the sequential number at the end may give you a clue as to what number your bike is for that particular day. Still searching for more info. Hopes this helps.

The Fatboys and Ultras are done at one place Gary.  They're done at York.  The V-Rods are in Kansas City.  But they're not done in a manufacturing sequence.  CVO gets assigned frames from the general production across the drive in the main production building in an "as they need them" fashion.  No consecutive sequencing for CVO production.  Just a handful of frames at a time.

Here's a bit of interesting discussion from earlier this year on the VINs: http://flhrsei.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?num=1109558350/24#24

Twolane,
Even though the frames are pulled at random, wouldnt it been an easy item to stamp on a CVO production number? So many of the parts are protected (the chrome accents and such) one would have figured the whole bike! JMHO ;)

I would love to find out how may 2004 FLHTCSE BLUE v/s ORANGE that were made. I spoke to my dealer and he made a phone call and advised that there were 2,854 2004 FLHTCSE's produced, ( 228 California, 117 Canada, 144 International and 2,365 US ). He could not find out a color breakdown for these 2,854 though. Can anyone HELP ?

Thanks,
Chris

Even though the frames are pulled at random, they (VIN #'s) are specific to the model so I would think they get assigned numbers when being built. I just checked my manual (sorry don't have a scanner at the moment to post pic), but on page 11 of 2004 FLHTCSE Model Owners Manual it breaks the VIN # down and the "PJ" is specific for FLHTCSE (I knew I had read this somewhere before). And the last six numbers are "sequential numbers". However you will notice that it is a six-digit number, and we all know that there was not that many SEEG built that year. So just when I thought I was on to something my theory is not holding water, however the "sequential number" may provide better information if we can get all the SEEG together and have there VIN #'s, then we could get plaques assigned 1 of 2750

FireOOd, I just checked my VIN # doesnt have the "PJ" in it.. The "PJ" is in the engine I.D. number [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
And my last six numbers in the VIN are 951294

MYCVO,
When I wrote/posted this I was going by information on purchase order/warranty paperwork and hadn't looked at my bike. However after your post I went and actually looked at bike, and my VIN does have the "PJ" in it, it is on the VIN plate (if you are standing in front of bike it will be on the frame neck on your right side (primary side), and also it is engraved on the opposite side in the frame itself). Be interesting if others are finding "PJ" or not. Also check your purchase order, bill of sale, and registration see what that has.
