Super Trapp Silent Seies
« on: March 28, 2009, 09:13:52 PM »

Has anyone tried these or even heard them on anyone's bike? I think they are fairly new.

http://www.supertrapp.com/product_sections/cat.asp?CatID=60

I have a 103 Softail with 2 into 1 that I'd like to tone down some. I am happy with the performance as it dynoed at 104 HP and 100 ft-lb, but I'd gladly sap a few peak ponies for less noise.

The first try was V&H ProPipes which was way too loud for my taste.

I am currently running D7D Fat Kats, with the quietest baffle available, and it's still louder than I want.

Super Trapp gets fairly good reviews, but I don't know anything about this particular design.

Thanks in advance

I haven't tried these myself, but I've owned SuperTrapp mufflers before.  Also, White Bros. E series (very similar).
From what it looks like, they're the same old thing.  Another marketing angle.  I don't see anything different from what they've had before- which is a very good product.
More discs increase output, fewer- more restrictive and less sound.

That is the trick with these exhaust. I have the 2:1 on my 131 with 12 disc and very quite. I would rate about half as loud as Rinehart True Duals. I just bought same set for my FXD project.
