News Bulletin.....
« on: March 29, 2009, 12:45:59 PM »

:coolblue: I saw a  "HD 2010 Model YR Update" with some colors & model changes. The FLTR model designation is to be discontinued, along with the FLHT, FXSTB and two others, one dyna and an 883. A new red called "Scarlet Red" and only two-phases of custom colors- 1.Merlot Red/ Cherry Red 2. ?? cant remember. No news on the CVO's yet.
I am sure some will not believe this info, so I encourage you to confirm w/ your dealer. Could this be the year for the "FLTRWC" Water-Cooled heads??
Interesting......We shall see!

I am not saying I do not believe you, but you are saying no Road Glide, no E-Glide and no Night Train? I, for one, have little reason to believe this regarding to the Touring models, unless the dropped models are the standard models only. In general I think it is very early in the year and it would not be really prudent regarding to '09 model year sales, to come out with MY '10 information already. Wouldn't you agree?
AND: Unless H-D could produce and sell liquid cooled models cheaper than air cooled, I am not certain that this model year change would be the best to make that change.

::) Like I said, I am sure some will not believe this news, so confirm w/ your dealer. FYI....I actually viewed the fax sent from Harley-Davidson. Also there is a guy on another board reporting the same news, he said a salesman gave him the news when he inquired about the 2010 FLTR.

My dealer did confirm with me Sat. that the Road Glide as it is offered now................ will not be offered in show roon floors the future.  At the same time they will still be manufactured.  (?????) So I think what he was trying to say is  RGs will not be setting in dealars as a standard model next year.

If, I was betting man I'd say the CVO selection for 2010 will be SESG. Very popular bike and it makes good business sense.
I made 100 sheckles on the SERG over a year ago.

Regarding the discontinued machines, I’m hearing the same buzz around the water cooler. Add the FXCW, FXDL and 883C.

It sounds like the Road Glide is going full touring. I'm sure there will be a shark nose bike but maybe with the factory installed tour pak. I guess Harley figures you can strip them down if you want, as oppose to building them up. Make sense to me. Now the CVO version of this bike is going to be just what the doctor ordered for some.

About 3 1/2 months from now and the cat will be "officially" out the bag.

These changes are little more than tweaks to the lineup. The purpose of the early heads-up is likely intended to help manage carryover of these models into the next model year.

A more likely April Fool’s scenario would be to seed the forum with information regarding the recent sighting of the new ultra lightweight, three cylinder, dry ice powered, side valve bagger. It is rumored that this machine is made entirely of unobtainium and may be hard to get, so get your order in before the end of March. :)

For those technically challenged, a brief description of unobtainium, taken from ... http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/

Unobtainium is the hardest and strongest chemical element known to man. It is so durable that a vessel made of unobtainium can send Aaron Eckhart to the center of the Earth. Unfortunately, the vessel would also be strong enough to bring him back out as well. A two inch thick sheet of Unobtanium is enough to withstand and protect somebody in the midst of a nuclear explosion, because of this scientists hope to make with it, a solar lander for exploring the surface of the sun, if they can manage to find some. It has also been suggested that a structure like this could be used as a new government building, giving the President the option of a penthouse suite on the top floor, or a regular office downstairs. For more information on this proposal, see Natural selection.

Due to its hardness, Unobtainium could also be used to make the world's tallest building, a completely uncollapseable edifice almost one hundred million stories high. However, you'd better be careful not to exceed this critical level, as the building would otherwise suffer unacceptable wear from the moon scraping off the top couple of floors. However this problem is easily solveable by simply building above a latitude of 29.12 degrees (subject to slight adjustment). Alternatively, a Very Expensive Sharp And Pointy Thing could be attached to the top of the tower so instead the bottom of the moon is scraped off.

However, the only problem with creating such starscraping (or moons-scraping) structure would be the obvious lack of need, not to mention Un. With the ability to make both underground capsules AND supergiant buildings, unobtainium would be the most useful element on the idiotic table, if only we could actually get some.

Sounds fair for the next model year Harley's.

Don't you guy's get it....HD monitors this site to test what will fly. A few rumor's thrown, reaps excellent feed back within days! Will water cooling be part of the 2010 line up? All of the other brands did it. I wonder what the radiator chrome trim is going to run for the new Sturgiscade 1800? :huepfenjump3:
