Show me the best location
« on: March 29, 2009, 09:34:29 PM »

I need to find an alternate location on the new SERG, and a chrome mounting bracket for my TX inspection sticker. The Kury LED curved license plate mount is on order. I will chunk that funky, dealer installed sticker mount (that shines "in all its glory") below the current license plate set up.

What are your ideas for a chrome inspec sticker plate and mounting location. Pictures would be GREAT !!

Thanks !!

Don't know what the TX requirements are for display but New York bikes used to (and maybe still do) have an inspection plate mount on the left side at the lower highway bar mount.  I think you can see the part in this picture.  It's just to the tight of the oil cooler.

Yes Greg, I see it...

I don't think Texas cares where you put it. Just so it's visible, somewhere....  I really don't want it to appear out of place, if you know what I mean... Somewhere indiscrete is what I had in mind.

Thanks

I bought the chrome plate to mount the sticker on and used the left passenger peg bolt....Texas requires the sticker to be ''visable''

Thanks Knothead,

I like that... I will likely do the same.

Any other ideas will be welcome.

My brother lived in Clearlake for several years, very nice !
He has since moved to Lake Conroe in the Bentwater area. I had "the ride" down there last summer, and well.... no one to ride with.

Next trip, likely this summer, I will tailer the SERG and know who to call, to show me the ropes.

let me know when your in Houston...we have a group of CVO bikes that ride every weekend...we'll hook up!!!  When installing that inspection plate, just run the peg bolt all the way in, it will bend the plate into place and not pop the chrome plating.

For the time I have settled on a location for my Kury Tx Inspection Sticker Plate 9162. I was surprised to see that this bit of chrome frame for my inspec ticker holds the ugly oil cooler lines back out of sight as well ...

Looks bigger than it is... Not at this point, but we will see, as I monitor oil temp regularly. Of course you got that big ol front tire and fender right in front of inspect plate...

I believe the temp issue is 255 cam related on the 110s, (well... along with cat's, running lean, baffles, etc...). Those lesser issues have been explored and dealt with. The cam issue will be worked next, count on it.
