SERG Tuner
« on: March 30, 2009, 11:00:11 AM »

Hey All – need your input regarding your use and/or knowledge of a specific tuner called the Terminal Velocity-3 Module (TV-3).  www.terrycomp.com  Is this an acceptable substitution for the Pwr Cmdr or Race Tuner?  I'm completely illiterate when it comes to the various systems available and the reliability of each. I've checked lots of threads but can't locate anything on the TV-3.
Thanks in advance,

Still chirping.

Perhaps the lack of any response should be an indicator of the popularity of this TV-3. Pretty much everyone on this forum is eager to help with any info they have on all subjects. If no one out here has heard of it, well  :( :( :(. The SESRT, and the TTS Mastertune are both great working systems that most everyone here has had some experience with. Go with what you know works. These scoots are way, way too expensive to be guessing.

Cheers, Ken  8)

Ken – I agree the lack of response speaks loud and clear to me too.  Just wanted to throw it out and see what came back.  You know the old saying, “ if you don't ask ….”

Thanks, Rob

Go with a proven product- if you have minor mods- or near stock bike- use a Power Commander.

I don't know who puts these on, but we have taken allot of them off and replaced with PCIII.  They are junk imho, cust more performance then they give, and the a/f ratio is fixed at 14.?(don't remember), which is closer to oem then anything performance.

Why ion the world would you put a powercommander on a stock bike and eliminate the O2's when you could use a SEST and keep them intact and running slightly richer than stock??? :confused5: :confused5: :confused5:

Racetuner is marries to bike after you install is the first black mark, second is the price, if you are doing a stock bike then way spend the extra on the SERT and the extra time on the dyno to tune it.  Not to forget that the stock O2 setup is narrow band sampling only.  Far away from true closed loop.  I would also add that you need a to go with a good tuner and what ever product he is comfortable with.

Terry Components runs the terminal velocity leaner than the H-D factory settings,  At the V-Twin Trade show a 2 years ago he said he sets them at 14.7 in all closed loop (perhaps he has rethunk that)  THe Super Tuner says 14.6 in the tables but that is only the switch that puts it in closed loop.  Many of the bias values are slightly higher but a few are right around 14.6.
