Changed the oil cooler hoses
« on: March 30, 2009, 07:18:02 PM »

Got around to replacing the oil cooler hoses that ran across the top of the regulator.  Used stainless covered rubber and rerouted from the bypass to the cooler.  One more project out of the way.

Leave it to the CVO forum to pick apart a nice mod.  But it is a great suggestion.

Wow, you're not kidding-tough crowd LOL.  Used the Russell hose and fittings with gear clamps.  Had it laying around after working on the racecar, probably didn't use more than 18". I changed the oil and filter after this mod.  The filter comes out the front of the frame instead of coming out the side, wasn't a problem for me. anyone know where to buy chrome plated bailing wire???

It wasn't a kit, just used what was laying around.  Any decent auto supply store/high performance center should sell stainless braided hose (don't use the teflon lined stuff) and be able to get the covers/clamps.  Another option is one of the mail order houses ie  Jegs or Summitt.

OK, Easy enough.  Now a stupid ??  Those gear clamps, are the regular hose clamps with the cover over them? or a special clamp that's actually called a gear clamp.  Thanks, Let's Roll
