Help a brother keep his ride....
« on: April 02, 2009, 09:10:00 PM »

I am starting this thread to gain more visibility to an effort we started on the thread about John Q having to sell his beloved 02 SERK.

We are trying to raise enough money to allow John to keep the bike. We are asking anyone who would like to do participate to pledge $100 or whatever amount they can afford. The goal is to match whatever he gets for an offer on E-bay if he doesn't get his reserve price.

Please post your pledge here or if you prefer to be anonymous, PM me

Thanks and God Bless, once in awhile it's nice to something for somebody else just for the hell of it.

We have $5k in pledges so far. Publicly, we have pledges from me, Roger Jobs, Brian (Hogasm) Buyearly, JR and Miker I also have PM's. I will post those folks names if they tell me it's ok to do so.

Thanks,
Ed

Hopefully you're right Mike.  Many of us ponied up early on.  Of course many people populate both sites and they might have simply extended their generosity there while present there.

There's still a decent segment of the community here that spends little time at the other site though.  Having dealt with so many of them on so many different things over the years I know their generosity and compassion is part and parcel of the community rather than any specific domain name.

That being so I'd doubt this thread would stay mute much longer.  More will see and will be able to help; even a little.  It's good people after all; has to simply a matter of time for more to see what's going on.

I'll bump this. Made my contribution on the other site as that is where the effort started. I have no preference or animosity to either site. Don't know the specifics of how we went from one to two, don't need to. Signed on because it looked like someone could use a boost. If anyone here feels likewise, I'm sure the help would be appreciated.

Well, as a past recipient of the generosity of the brothers and sisters here, I would like to commend the current efforts here to help John Q. While I'm not surprised that we're almost to our goal I would like to remind everyone that every lil bit will help. No matter the amount.

This is what makes this community different from any other. Neal has truly brought some of the very best folks together. Kudos to you Neal.

Now let's get er done here. Please!!! :2vrolijk_21:
