Dash mount bracket for XM antenna, I just cut down a thin piece of aluminium stock, bent it on a 45, drilled a hole, filed it down to fit to right mounting screw, and glued the antenna on.

Don't have one, don't need one, and for 8 bills, dont want one.

I lost any great appreciation for XM a couple years ago and dropped it.  But it wouldn't need to be $800-ish to install it.  On a Road Glide I think you'd need the larger radio interface harness (70169-06) and it'd be about a $100 at one of the 20% off stores.  The XM module kit itself (76404-06) would be around $400 and the little antenna bracket (76316-06A) is all of five bucks.  So for around $500 you've got the job done if you're willing to take the fairing off yourself.

Not surprised that paying full cost on the parts and dealer labor would push the cost up that far.  $500 is still a lot to pay for a radio add-on.  But given the ease of taking an outer fairing on and off that is one most could tackle themselves and be done in 90 minutes or so.  Things like that are always an individual choice.  But this one would be manageable for many.  Especially for $300 overall difference.

First I already had Sirus radio, Yes, I like you did not want it stuck on those clean handle bars. Installed 12V recp. in left glove box,............. put small piece on clear vinyl on glove box lid, stuck ant. there for trips, and leave radio in glove box.   :cherry:

I can't say that I'm completely thrilled with the XM radio.  It cuts out whenever there is a hill on the side of the road or in downtown areas.  It doesn't play as loud as the FM does, which doesn't play as loud as the CD player...so with D&D 2 into 1 installed, the XM is a bit hard to hear and distorts when I crank it up the entire way to try to hear it.  I still have 2 more months on my trial period and then I'll have to make a decision

I have XM and Love it. It does cut out every now and then but, it's only for a second then I'm rocking again. I did not have to pay for it. When I was looking at the SERG's at my dealer. I told them if it had XM I would take it. They agreed to add it so I bought me a SERG.  :2vrolijk_21:  Now of course I was buying it either Way. But they didn't know that....

How about adding a Zumo. I thought the 550 had XM on it. At least that way you get a GPS and XM at a cheaper price that what HD charges.  :nixweiss:

sorry Greg, just now gettin' to this...it is the Sirius 'InV', the new model is the InV2 $39.99 (XM compatible)...the reason I got this one is that it comes with no cradle-very small, 3 wires plug into the left side and they routed nicely, I placed the antenna with dbl-face tape on top of clutch master cylinder and 'mini' wire-tied the cable along the clutch cable(very stealthy) power goes to 2nd cig lighter I placed in the glove box...all wires go in fairing...it looks nice and clean and is a shorter reach than the radio, love it...also, the reception is a good 20% better than radio or CD...highly recommend
