The law on this was being tinkered with a few years ago.  So don't take this as gospel right now without doing a bit of research first.  But it used to be the case that if a dealer took your deposit for a vehicle they had to supply that vehicle if it became available at all.  Even if that meant buying it from another dealer and losing money in the process.

My understanding (from my dealer who is not always consistent with his information) is that each dealer is allocated two per color.  I ordered my 05 in October last year and the ship date kept pushing out.  I think it was because more of one color over another and they didn't want to get stuck with a lot of one unpopular color.  But I was told, that the bike was late because of re-chrome issues, then the color I ordered was not on the line yet, etc.  It would be interesting to know how many of each color was made last year.

Also, I saw on Ebay a yellow SEEG sold as new by a dealer in a northern midwestern state about the same time I received mine.  Perhaps the trading with dealers goes on

CVO's are allocated to dealers based on a dealer's allocation and their Bar & Shield score (sort of like a report card).

I'm in the same position; have deposit in for delivery of the 5th bike for the dealership.  Was told that the paint shop CVO is using is about 500 bikes behind, and they can't commit to deliveries until they get caught up.  I'm hoping they will come through, but if not, then I guess I'll be first on the list for the '07 [smiley=nixweiss.gif] (assuming they are going to produce the SE Ultra for two years???)

Thanks for the info. That makes sense. The original ship date was the last week in December and is the 4th bike my dealer was allocated. You sound like you know what you're talking about too. Maybe I'll be able to sleep a little better tonight [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]
