I was the safety officer in my group for 8 years I liked being able to have some input to new riders. You know you get the people in that rode when they were  kid's and have just gottin back into it but when you talk to them they will tell you that they have been riding all there life. But a lot of time they will lessen to someone with a gray beard. And we get 15% off at the dealer and at some other dealers across the country.

:)--everyone has said it is a individual thing--as going on the national rides, and any get togethers by club HOG etc.  it is worth it to most of us....The people you meet are great and they make the best friends....What more can one say ---Yes to HOG

I am a member not because of what I get out of it, but because I hope they will benefit the motorcycle community as a whole.  Hopefully they are they "voice" that we need as a large group as we face issues like helmet laws, loud exhausts, and other restrictive legislation.  If they aren't the voice, then what are they?

I wholly support HOG and really enjoy chapter events and rides. My best friends have come from the chapter. I'm a life member and when you buy a new bike you get a $45 coupon to use for any merchandise at HD dealers.

Sounds like many of us have drank the Kool-aide that Harley Calls HOG. Yes there are many many good things HOG offers. But, it exists for one reason, Sell Motorcycles/clothes. If we can keep it all in perspective, it is good.
And besides, it doesn't cost that much to make a difference, especially to us. How many parts are on your shelf that will never get used, and how much did that cost you?

I just joined this week and I believe something that was said earlier in the thread..... You will get out of it what you put into it. IMHO I should get alot out of it and have fun making new friends on more rides and GTG's. Once again just my .02!
