I just changed from Supertrapp SE slip-ons (V&H Dresser Duals headpipes) to Monster Ovals.  They are about the same on overall volume, but the tone is definitely better on the M.O.s.   Deeper, and unlike many I've heard it doesn't change that much with rpm.  Pricey, but I'm happy with them.

stock head pipes give you the best power at normal speeds

d&d two into ones give the best overall power & top end.

re cored stock mufflers provide almost the best power & sound for less than a dinner out with the inlaws

all the rest is for image or noise.

I put CFR slip-ons on my 09 SEUC, Very deep and throaty, $600, (CFR = Cass Fause Racing).  Had V&H True Duals, and ride with some people with Reinhardt's, but I like the throatiness of the CFR. my neighbors think they are a little loud but I like it.

Vance and Hines classic ovals.  Buy a set of slip ons on ebay and give them a try.

Harleydon has a standard '04 RKC.  Fullsac baffles won't fit in his stock mufflers.

Yeah but, if he sends them to steve at Fullsac, he can recore them for him.

Cheers, Ken  8)

P.S. Thanks again for the Fullsac 2" baffles Dakota. They run great and sound awesome.  :)

Hooker pipes are pretty loud- Ive owned them on two bikes, and the baffels are adjustable so you can tune the for torque or horsepower on each side. They seem to produce better results on the dyno than the Rineharts. Samson offers new 4" pipes that are even louder than the hookers.  And if you want a little more sound,  samson offers upgradeable replacement 2.25" varitech baffles-that might suit your ear.

I think the consensus is that 2 into 1 makes for better performance than true duals - does anyone have an opinion  :) if true duals reduce engine heat more than 2 into 1?

You want deep and throaty - RB Racing LSR 2-1 Black Hole or Pro Stock Spyder's.  Go to their website and the tab on top named "Cinema" and watch the video called 96" Fatboy.  Granted they're using the standard LSR Pro Stock duals but it will give you a good idea of the sound.  If you don't want obnoxious, then the Black Hole's would be what your looking for, or the pipes I will be installing soon which are the 2-1 Spyder's.  A cross between the Black Holes and the Pro Stock's.  When I get mine installed and tuned up properly I'll post some pic's and sound bites.  Have to play with the MasterTune first.  Another thread on this forum I posted a photo of the chrome version of the Spyder's.  Another place to hear the sound is You tube, and then do a search for RB Racing pipes.  They have a few video's there to give an idea of the sound.  Good luck with your purchase.
