2009CUSE and Fulsacs that dont fit
« on: April 07, 2009, 02:50:46 PM »

I have just taken my mufflers off to fit Fulsac 2" cores and guess what -There is no removable end cap on the stock muffler . They are a one piece construction with the baffle welded 360 degrees right at the rear of the pipe so there is no way that Fulsacs will fit.
I am not sure if this is just the European bikes or all 2009 CUSE4s. Maybe someone over in the USA can advise.
I am going to give Steve a ring to see what he thinks  because I ordered them to fit a 2009CUSE4 and he said they fit so the USA ones must have a different muffler.
Just wanted to let anyone else in Europe know that might be thinking of going down this path.

The main body of the exhaust is 4" but it tapers down slightly  to 3.5" at the rear end.

All european (and HDI) mufflers are same your pic !  :(

You need to buy the US CVO (stock) mufflers with billet end caps.
They are very nice and the Fullsac cores fit with with these (not with the stock european models).

Any OEM CVO mufflers from an 06,07,08 or 09 US Bagger will work just fine, you should be able to get a set at a reasonable price.

Yes they fit on the european headers without problems.
You'll need to download a MAP for Stage 1 if you put a SE Air cleaner or similar.
In this case, you'll disconnect the cable to the butterfly and the flap stays open.
The MAP for SE SUPER Tuner will be 205UJ004 : All Market' CVO 1800 SE A/C & Race Exhaust, CVO pistons, CVO cams, CVO Head, stock injectors. Available for 2008/2009 touring.

On my bike, I've V&H dressers duals without butterfly valve.

Thanks Jacques I have put a post in buying.
At the moment I have the mufflers on the floor and the headers also and I was going to Fulsac the mufflers , remove the cat, fit an SE filter and remap using TTS Mastertune which dials out the inlet and exhaust acr's.
obviously I cant do all this now because of the muffler problem which will be a couple of weeks down the line before its sorted. I dont want to be off road that long so will have to put everything back to standard for now.
Question- can I run with the existing stock map if I just remove the cat? Reasoning behind this is I do not want to take the header pipes off again if I dont have to.

You're better off replacing the headers too Trot.  If you want to run all this stuff you're doing (I corrected your misaprehension about the cost of the Tourpak lights elsewhere) past me before making decisions on it (I could have told you about the different mufflers too!) I have a fair bit of knowledge and experience on these here bikes, and I'll be happy to help if I can - I'm in the UK too, so if you want my phone number, drop me a PM. (oh, and you DON'T want to disable the ACRs by the way!)

Cheers,

Jim

If I run my Big Radius on my FLHTCUSE4 there will be nowhere for the ACR's to be.

What's the problem with disabling the ACR's?

I think you're confusing something else with the ACRs, Jon - they won't get in the way of anything!

Are you thinking of the flapper valve instead maybe?   You do need to disable that (and, on 07 110s, the flapper on the air cleaner when you change that), but the ACRs are necessary to let you start the bike without breaking it!  ;)
