« on: April 13, 2009, 10:26:40 AM »

Just talked with Baker, they have not even started to do one for the 09, has  any other manufacturer released one yet?   :confused5:

Sorry Doc that, for me, is not the way to go, I'm going with two ten core Jaggs, I know how they perform & what I can anticipate from them, honestly running oil though a crash bar is an old trick, but, in my humble opinion, a very dangerous thing to do, first if one of those homemade connections breaks,  write off a motor, if some material in that tube breaks lose and plugs a line, write off a motor,  what testing have you done to determine  over time the oil pump can take on that extra load, &  even more important what is the pressure drop resulting by using the bar?  (The HD 8 core cooler is a very restrictive design, as HD is purposely slowing the oil down in their cooler to make it more efficient, the ten core Jaggs have 3 & 1/2 times less pressure drop) in addition  you are only cooling a very small portion of the oil running in the bar as the bar has no turbulation to stir the oil as it runs though the bar, too many unknowns to risk a  $ 5,000.oo  motor.  But if it works for you great.

Not for everyone, thats for sure but have had no issues with useing it, I have no way to tell the pressure drop, but with the larger oil pumps on the newer 07+ motors I feel its not an issue. I have cleaned the internals of the engine guard completly have no fear of anything coming lose. It holds my pan temps at 230* all day while crusing in 80+ outside temps. I have also used this many times in other bikes with no ill effects. I would not recommend it for everyone , but it works for me. Replacing the HD premium resticted cooler with a jagg is in order for most. I have since  plumbed the engine gaurd and HD cooler in parallel, which lets the oil take the less restictive route. Brass fittings have been replaced with steel... Doc

Jettjockey.  I would like to know what temps and how you are plumbing the two 10 row jaggs. Sounds very interesting. Are you also useing the HD adaptor ?  Thanks Doc

Jagg makes the bracket to install the 10 core cooler on the left side, I've talked with them & they are considering doing a bracket for the right side, (both these coolers are vertically mounted on the front frame arms edge forward with air lifts at the front, as was  what  Donny Petersen's suggests in his book to cool down these 110's, & they are getting alot of calls from us wanting to install two coolers, so to move ahead & install two in tandum I am fabricating the right side bracket. (It mirrors the left side but the arms are 1 & 3/4 inch longer) You cannot use the HD 8 core cooler or HD adapter in this setup because HD has purposely restricted the oil flow though their cooler to make it cool like an 10 core,  the Jagg's do not do this &  have 3 & 1/2  less pressure drop in them than the HD cooler so one must use the Jaggs alone with the Jagg adapter at the oil filter.  An added feature is the Jagg coolers add about 8 oz. more oil each. As soon as complete the project I'll send some pictures and temp info. Guys the problem with 110's is plain & simple...... HEAT, & HD knows knows this. (plus a poorly designed  internal oil return line) Mark my words I believe the 09s  maybe the 10s will be the last time we see a 110 from MOCO.  Having said all this that is the reason I'm searching  for the +1 pan to fit the 09s. Also keep in mind we added andrew 575 cams, SE push rods, roller rocker arms & 10.5 pistons (a step backwards as far as "heat", ie more compression more heat)  but to have a 110 motor with limp d*ck 9.2 compression is just plain silly.
