battery tender
« on: April 13, 2009, 10:54:31 AM »

Hey Guys,

Do we have a battery tender pigtail hooked up to our bikes from the factory? I have heard several different stories. I cant seem to find one unless I am looking in the wrong place. I am going to finally get one. Is there a certain one that is recommended?

None from the factory. Some dealers will install one before delivery, just to be nice. Get the HD battery tender. It has the pigtail connections with it, also has the alligator clips, so you can use it on other batteries.

my bike had one on it at del., but it was larger than the one that fits my tender I have used since 04, I use the HD tender it works fine, when not riding, it's on the tender, I believe it extends batt life some, but in my opinion all batts are finished after about three years.   :(

My dealer installs the cable and charges you for a battery tender when you buy a bike from them.  I made them take back the battery tender and cut it off the price of the bike, but I still had the cable installed and they didn't take that back off.  What was I going to do with a 3rd battery tender?

You should be looking for it near the oil cap.

What was I going to do with a 3rd battery tender?

I have 9 battery tenders

1 on the SEEG
1 on the 03 Classic
1 on the Mustang
1 on the scooter
1 on the other scooter
1 on the shelf wrapped for trips (BT Jr.)

I put the first replacement on my 97 in 2005.  I think my tenders pay for themselves in the first cycle of battery life, then it's pure gravy!  I just bought my 8th one for the EZGo.
