I have an 08 SERK Annie, thinking of trading it for an 09 SERG, I am looking for a little more storage space and wind protection. I'm having trouble deciding, need help! Any opinions would be welcome.

GO FOR IT!!!!   I have rode a few RKs and there wasn't a one that fit me right, everyone said change the bars, change the seat, do this, do that, why.....if you aren't mostly comfortable on it stock are you going to be comfortable on it after you change it all about.  I say you have to ride to see if you like it stock, then you have a platform to build upon.  I have had three Heritage Softails and on second RG and won't go back to anything else.  A buddy of mine that we ride everywhere together is a die hard Ultra fan, has had who knows how many and the earliest he could get a new 09 SEUC was June.  Our dealership had one more SERG coming in and he asked me about it, told him to take mine 09 SERG for a ride.  He came back ten mins later and we went to dealership and he bought it, it was like night n day difference for him.  Once you get used to the fixed fairing its soooo smooth of a ride.

Thanks for the input, does the SERG give you good wind protection, some posts were talking about issues with the windshields, I am losing my hearing and need to get as much wind protection as possible.

Do it...you'll have to buy a winshild that actully does something other than look good..I went throuh bout 4-5 for my batwing for I found one that works...14-16 clearview, light smoke atter do it for ya..maybe.

There is wind that comes around but no worse then when I just on the wifes heritage and its screen, trust me, you will change out the stock flyscreen as I call it, its about as useless as my ski doo snowmobile screen.  There is more space between you and the screen than you have on the RK.  I went with a CB14 inch tall but if you read the posts its a love or hate to many of the screens available.  If you can find someone in your area that has 09 SERG and changed out screen see if they will let you take a spin on it and see what you think.  The CB screen is not cheap but not many of the others are either.  I will say that compared to my 06 RG with stock cut down 1 inch screen and the 09 SERG with the CB14, it night n day difference.  There is those screens out there that you can get even taller to minimize the wind.  What type of helmet do you wear??

Great info, I am currently wearing a half helmet but I have to change to a 3/4 or full this year. The wind noise is my biggest concern, if its less than the SERK I will be happy.

     Look at the comments in Big-T's thread.  Same "dilemma."  I agree with Doc, " You only live once, if you can afford it, buy it. Life is to short."  If you ride hard or like the twisties.... you'll love the '09.  Had a built 04 RG and loved it.  The SERG is much better.  Very planted in the turns.  Try reading some of those threads...  Better, test an 09.  They'll let you ride the RG but probably not a SERG.  If you like the RG... you'll LOVE the SERG.

+ 1 to what Greg said.  I still have my '05 Road King Classic, but have always wanted the Road Glide, the ultimate tourer.  Still have and love the RK, but the '09 SERG is an exponentially better machine. Performace, style, and rideability is all there.  Best bike the MOCO has put out in a long time in my view, and if you like to ride, yo will not be disappointed.

I won't persay that the wind noise is less on the SERG versus the RK but the SERG compared to my wifes heritage, I have less wind around me.  I also have the lower fairing on the SERG and that really helps out alot.  Like the others saying, go ride an 09 RG and if you like that, you'll LOVE the SERG.

Caveat:  You WILL need to replace the SERG wind "deflector."  It's pathetic and only "deflects" the wind into your face.

Thanks for the input, I will see if I can ride one our dealer said they are getting a SERG demo inthe next wekk or so, I'll keep you posted, they are amazing looking bikes.

The look is amazing , yes that`s right , but the feeling and riding this awesome scooter is unbelieveable and not possible to put in words , take it and you will love it , i never rode or had a better damn f$%*ing hot looking and extreme easily handling bomb before .

Someone had to stick up for the 08 SERK. IMHO the SERK is the best scooter HD has built. However, I do like the looks of the SERG so you can't really go wrong.
