Tire pressure, missing wheel weights...You'd see sticky tape like residue if you chucked a weight..I did once on a back wheel and thought I had scissored the flywheel... ;)

Screamin,

I don't know what could be causing the wobble, but if you don't feel safe or are worried that it will cause damage to the bike, don't ride it until you get someone (the dealer?) to look at it.

Just my $0.02...

The dealer that sold me the SERG offered the first service "Free". An issue they noted and repaired was a loose steering head. See Sec 1.21 in the 09 HD Touring Model Service Manual. Just a thought, but something you can easily check on a lift.

Started having it when I let off the throttle.  Also noticed that my front tire was cupping.  The new D407's are doing this.  The trailing edge of the pattern is wearing much more than the leading edge.  My tire whe inspected closely was almost bald at the trailing edge pattern while the leading edge was quite healthy.  I check tire pressure every 2 weeks and go by the book.  Well, appears there is an alert out and I got a warranty replacement with the new D408 tire.  Wobble is gone!

Is this wobble and tire issue just with the SERG's or does it include the CUSE4's?
Thanks

How many miles did you have on your bike when you noticed the tire starting to dip out ? and how many more till you noticed the vibration ?  Sorry if I am asking too many questions  but I like to keep up with things like this.   Thanks    JT

Screamin09,

From your descripiton, it sounds like your steering head bearings are loose.  Mine were.  See here:  http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=31280.0  This should be a quick fix at the dealer.

Screamin09,

A cupped front tire will cause the wobble you described. Had the same thing happen on my 05 RG. Dealer said it was the tire. Replaced the tire. Better, but still there. Dealer had the bike for three days. Could not figure it out. Turns out (figured this one out on my own) that because we ride two up with luggage on the tour-pak 95% of the time, when I rode solo it decreased the rake enough to cause the wobble. Dropped the air pressure down to the reccomended pressure for solo rider, and the wobble was gone.

Cheers, Ken  8)
