Customer service - what is it?
« on: April 16, 2009, 09:50:31 AM »

I wish I had this kind of service from the dealer where I may spend many thousands of dollars.

4 years ago I had a custom made derby and primary access cover made.
Having a hard time with the color choice, Cat LLC - http://www.billetcats.com/ offered to send me a few color chips, cool I thought. I picked the candy red. We talked about it a bit as the owner said it really isn't a product to "color" stuff with but that it might work.

They made the parts, filled it with my choice of color and I couldn't have been more pleased with the result.

I actually like the way the machine marks show through the coloring. The owner was concerned that it would not be what I was hoping for, but I Like it.
The neat thing with the candy fill is that in the sun, the shade matches the light cherry of the bike and in the shade it matches the dark cherry.

Alright - I got interrupted in the middle of this.

Remember, this piece is now 4 years old.
I noticed one day while washing the bike that it was looking funky when wet.

So I emailed Billet Cat looking to see if it was repairable and how much.

The answer - "send it up we'll take care of it".

Now remember - 4 years old with a material not designed for my application.

The cost - "you just get it to us and we'll fix it and send it back.

Now that is "customer service"

I just got it back yesterday and it looks as good as the day I first got it 4 years ago.
It looks so nice I almost don't want to put it back on the bike  :nixweiss:

Yeah - I don't know Joe - don't know how well it would look. If your talking about the "firefighter" linkage that may be coming off. I am considering putting on the SE arm for awhile. Just need to get some parts to put it together.

Duane, I couldn't agree with you more on the customer service from CAT LLC.  I also bought their Eagle head derby cover and timing cover for my bike in orange.  Looked beautiful until the UV rays turned the orange to yellow over time.  Called them, they said send the parts back and they returned to me no charge.  Again the orange went to yellow, called them again during which they profusely apologized.  I elected to go with black instead of the orange and they refinished again at no charge, not even shipping.  All of this has taken place over the last four years.  That's standing behind your product!

The cover looks so nice now that was why I was thinking of leaving the SE 103 cover on for awhile. I thought about the SE head for the derby, that must have looked pretty cool in orange.
