Welcome.  Most guys are modifying the stock headpipe to remove the cat, and are recoring their stock muffler bodies with Fullsac baffles.  Call Steve George at Fullsac Performance.  www.fullsac.com  He can help you with that, and tuning options.  Do a search on the baffles, and you'll finds plenty of info.

I agree.  fullsac does a great job and are reasonable.

We have a lot of Jackpot's from Fuel Moto and they are also quite nice and reasonable.

I like the Rinehart slipons personally but they are pricey.

In my opinion Gutting the stock head pipe, fullsac baffels, and TTS Master tune with Steves map is the best bang for the buck.  Doing it this was my total cost was about the same as Bub 7 slip ons only.

The Fullsac baffes sound great, nice deep low tone, but not real loud unless your are twisting it hard.

I agree with the Fullsac option. My Baffles are due in. Going to order the programed tuner  and gut the cat as well. I really think that they offer a nice package for the SERG an I have had a pleasant experience with them during my inquiries about their products. Personal attention and a genuine interest in giving you an honest answer to your questions. I really look forward to getting my scoot tooled up with their stuff.

I put the Fullsac 2.0 muffler cores in last night. The new bike sounds so much better.
Goiing to put Vance & Hines Power Dual headers on this weekend. That will take care of the
CAT. problem. I hope it doesn't get much louder as it sounded just right after doing the baffles.

once you do this, watch your heat. without an air/fuel management it can rise. try and keep it within the closed loop.

Scotty-

You will need a tuner/FI controller- mine ran very lean  after the baffles so don't dog it too much: stay under 3000 rpm until you get a FI controller.

You can buy a PC5 - the install is 5 minutes, there are a few maps on the ecm/map thread- there are several of us running the same set up and there are 4 or 5 maps available. You should be able to find the powercommander PCV for around $300

Also Fullsac sells the TTS Master tune.  He will provide you with a map for the Fullsac baffels and no cat set up.

I have to agree with the Fullsac solution.  I put the Fullsac 2.0 baffles in the original mufflers and the VH power duals :2vrolijk_21:  I used the Power Commander V for the tuner.  The PC-V has been a pain in my side.  If I was going to do it all over again I would go with the TTS tuner the you can get from fullsac.  I believe that Steve will sell it as a package deal with a map for the tuner.  I am very happy with Fullsac baffles and the VH Power duals.

I've been trying to come up with the same solution, and as in this thread, most are going with the non-cat & Fullsac option.

Scotty,
Where did you get your bike from? Mine is being delivered to Downtown HD TOMORROW! Unfortunately, I am still in Japan, and can't fly back until next week to pick it up. I'm going to try and see if I can order the parts and have them knock this out while the bike is still there. Being a rookie HD owner, I'm not sure how receptive the dealer is going to be to me ordering a bunch of non-MoCo stuff and having them put it on... so I may have to see what I can get from the to also add, so they'll get a cut... lol

Only thing I can think of adding from the get-go is the rider's backrest... and even with that, I'd prefer to ride the bike some and get a feel for it before I go that route. I am trying to review some of the "I've added _____" threads to see if anything else trips my trigger. But being new to the HD thing from the get-go, and already getting a blinged-out CVO, I can't think of anything else to add out the door...

 :)

Interesting, I have the PC V with autotune from Fuel Moto (they supplied me the custom base map, it did not come from Dynojet) and have had absolutely no problems.  In fact, it has gone so ridiculously smooth, several other SE's and 96's in my club are using the PC V with great success.  Albeit all from Fuel Moto.  Could have had the TTS but the PC V was recommended instead.

What issues have you had?  Where did you buy the PC V from?

As said by many others, the Fullsac 2 inch cores and the non-cat header make a great combination of sound and performance for a relatively low cost. The guys at Fullsac are a joy to work with. You will need a tuner.

If I were doing it all over again, I'd use Mastertune - solely based on what I've read here. I used the SERT, mainly because I had bought one, software, etc. The bike runs fine, but it is open loop. It's a lot cooler than before.

You can do Fullsac and Mastertune as a package  and get a lot for your money and excellent customer support from people that frequent this site.

I used PowerCommander on previous bikes (III not V) with mixed results. I've used ThunderMax twice, once with excellent results on a 103 softtail, another time with so-so results on a 2007 SERK. However, to understand the dark side of ThunderMax, read TwoLaneRiders older thread (long - but entertaining and worth the time). My recent experience was 180 degrees different - at least in part due to improvements in their software.

But, if you want open loop on a fly by wire bike, I believe Mastertune has the best track record, a more mature product, and (probably) a lot better knowledge of the H/D ECM than other competitors. PCV is relatively new, but Dynajet has been working with H/D and other bikes for a long time. They will also be around for a long time.

Finally, the ECM technology and the after-market tuning technology are advancing very rapidly. The best product today won't necessarily be the best tomorrow. But, a good tuner, with a product they are comfortable with, can set your bike up right now. With open loop, it will remain right until you trade the bike or make drastic engine mods. If/when that happens, re-evaluate technology and products available. However, don't postpone getting your bike tuned by a competent tuner to improve both comfort and performance.

Diamondback is right - you shouldn't have to spend the extra money on aftermarket products. But H/D is not alone in that area. Superbike riders also buy aftermarket stuff to work around their electronic limitations. BMW and sport tourers farkle their bikes beyond end. I guess none of us are ever satisfied.

 :soapbox:

I'm done now.

I was at Downtown H.D. today and I believe I saw your bike. The General Manager was taking myself and a buddy on a tour of their new building and on a lift was a brand new yellow SE Roadglide that had just been uncrated. It had military signs and sold on it. They had not even cleaned it up yet but it was beautifull. I should have taken a picture.
Does this sound like your bike...
